Cathy - in THIS case - with multiple reports form a variety of sources... the trip was indeed a fact-finding trip (and a visit to some relatives thrown in). Not one source mentioned any campaigning or stumping for Odinga. Except - the viral emails and self-important agenda-laden vids created on YouTube... no news source or campaign is foolish enough to touch such obviously ridiculous ..... stuff.
This was not a poltician showing us anything... but a variety of news reports and coverage.
As far as this myth goes - I'll borrow from Mythbusters and say it is.... busted.
