My husband is putting new flooring in our kitchen and diningroom so the house is a complete disaster!! We've had the flooring stored in our garage for over a year. I told him I wanted it put in before Christmas and I didn't mean December 24 at 11:30pm either. My kids are bugging me to get the Christmas stuff out and I can't yet. So my countdown is getting the floor done. It looks beautiful by the way--when it is all done it will be worth the wait

Runamuk, I think athe lights on the tree fool the cameras eye or something. Same thing happened when I tried to take a pic of ours. How old are your kids? Creative kids is a real treat! Have they made the hanging balls from oranges and whole cloves yet? Those are great and smell really good if you get enough ofthem you dont need a scented candle!

One year I had the kids do a tree outside decorated with stuff for the wild animals, strung cranberries, popcorn, pinecones filleed with peanut butter and bird seed. That was lots of fun and then the watched the snow ( we still lived in NY then) for the footprints of the ones that came to eat from the tree.

OK this is getting me all inspired to actually "do" Christmas Rori. I was going to just take my little fibre optic tree out of it's box and be done with it but maybe I'll put up my big one now. It's artificial so I'm going to have to get some cedar boughs or garlands for that real Christmas tree scent.
