Bottom line to me, hon, is it's your money and your business. Horse looks nice to me.

I am sooooo glad to read so many "devil's advocate" posts to this thread.

Leeana, I don't know you and I surely don't want to come across as someone who knows it all but it is distressing to read some of your threads. On the rescue forum you have a yearling Arab for sale because you can't handle him. You posted a few weeks ago in regards to your sister's horse, you went to an auction and bought a mare, in foal no less, you have a stallion. How much experience do you have foaling out. How much experience, at your young age in breeding and handling a stallion? Has your stallion dropped? Are you prepared for when his "stallion" behaviour kicks in?

I am in NO position to judge but you worry me. Please, stop. The welfare of the horses is of the utmost importance and while it's wonderful that you have money why not spend it on the ones you have. What will happen to all these horses when you go to college?

Sorry Leeana, but I think you have ENOUGH on your plate.

The way I see it, PERFECT each horses training before starting on a new one. You have 3 horses to show, thats MORE then enough. Trust me, its hard enough with 2!!!!

Leeana, I REALLY don't like the way you handle the buying of horses. Personally, I think that unless you are a PROFFESIONAL trainer, and are being paid to train horses, you should only have a fairly small number of horses - and with those horses, have them trained to the level that you need them to be.

Leeana, you have 3 horses that have the ability to show. Concentrate on them, and save the money you would be using to buy the perfect show tack and pay for entry fees.

I get what your saying feather my horse couldnt even walk on a lead and he was 2 he was a very long training job and I lve him but yu can train your heart out and you can't change conformation for halter classes mabe her other horses arnt halter horses you cant really change that mabe she wasnt a show halter horse and she could train I agree her others to excel very well and place in the top for other things liek jmuping obstacle exc.! No comments on the foaling out issue, but, I am going by memory here, she has had this stallion for a long time and he's in his 20's? They do tricks, driving, and lots of fun, I've seen it in pics. So I think she can handle him pretty well.

Sunraye ...thats midnights horse. My stud, striker, is only 3 years old and rides and ground drives.

Midnights horses do the tricks i think.

Sorry about that, I just relized the mistake I done. I still go by the hardshipping though. If you want to pay that huge amount to hardship him into AMHA and again do it for AMHR its going to be costly.

And as for being a professional and owning horses.  That has nothign to do with it.  I know a few professionals that shouldnt own a single horse. IM not a professional and I currently have 9, with 3 on the way next year.  I dont have any problems handleing or training them.

What I meant Ashley, is that even the horses that you have, although you aren't a trainer - know how to do what they need to. If you don't show or anything, then they should have the proper manners and skills to know how to lead and tie and stand for farrier ect. Now this is just how I see it, but from Leeana's previous topics, it seems to me that her horses don't know how to lead or stand or be tied very well aka her filly Lexus. I think she should get the horses she has now so they lead flawlessly, can tie, and stand and just have manners in general.

I do agree that some pros shouldn't have horses either. I know of one lady in particular that doesn't even feed them herself, but her husband and the people living with her do. Don't remember the last time she actually came down to the barn with us either... She barely even pays attention to her 6 month or so filly. The poor thing barely knows how to lead. I give her a quick lesson everytime I go over there, but its so rare anymore that I feel pretty bad for the baby.

Lexus can lead and stand fine, she just doesnt tie to well yet. I work with all my horses every day almost, working them EVERY day isnt good. I have no trouble training each of them and giving them all the attention they get, i mean its 5 horses ...not something drastic.

They all have pretty good ground manners and know there stuff, only one that needs some work is lexus because she is a bit nippy when it comes to food, but she is 5 month old.

I know i have the time to have another mini ...its not to hard for me because i actually like cleaning stalls, working with them, showing them and being around them ext.

I'm actually re considering this guy a little bit because i have to take into consideration where i stand show-wize. Open shows are fine ..but for AMHR you need something like this to get a bit farther.

I think this would be something good to put my money toward ..plus what i've been saving up for. I still have some thinking to do though about it.

Thanks you guys

Leeana
