Today 2 of my remaining 3 Morgans left for their new home. It's hard. The barn felt really empty tonight without them, but I think it's harder watching my last mare wonder where her buddy went. I know it's all for the best since I don't ride anymore, and it definitely wasn't fair to them to hang onto them "just in case" I wanted to ride and show again. The mare was 16 and I'd had her for 5 years, but the stallion was harder to watch go. We bred and raised him from a baby and I did almost all his work by myself. He's 6. I guess I would have been ok hanging onto the mare and just keeping her retired, but the stallion is definitely too young to just stand around mostly in a stall since he's the ultimate prissy show horse and hates rain, bugs, too much sun etc etc lol. They're going to a great new home where they'll be used, shown, and loved, with someone who has more time and can give them what they truly deserve. The good part is that they're only going to NH so I can at least go see them. Sorry for the pic size.

Now, what to do with my poor girl that's left.

Guess she's going to be stuck with my Shetland colt! She also has the minis for company through the fence, but it's really just not the same for her.

<<hugs>> Change is always hard, at least for me. You did what you thought was best for them, and found them a good home where they will have a more fulfilled life.

It is always sad to see them go....... Nice horses

btw if you wouldnt mind me asking what kind of leather halter is that onthe last mare..... it is really pretty and I wouldnt mind getting on for my filly one day

You didn't act on impluse. You thought things through carefully. You did what you did because you wanted what you thought was best for your horses. Very unselfish of you.

It will take some time for you to adjust, and the good part is that you have placed them in good homes so you won't have any regrets.

Go have a good cry.

It will be ok.

I know how hard things like that are, but you thought it out and really did it in the best interest of the horses. I'm sure your other mare will understand that. Please don't be too hard on yourself, go have a good cry and then be happy because they are being used and loved in their new home.

Thank you for loving these horses enough to do what is right for them, hard for you but right for them!

You did the right thing and hopefully someone will buy that mare so she will also have a job to do, vcould you lease her?

Hugs'

Bonnie

Awwww...Jen that is just so sad.

I was wondering if all went according to plan. It's so sad seeing them go. I'll miss Layla hangin' over my shoulder the next time I come to visit. Although maybe Chanty will get a chance for me to love on her now that Layla won't be hoggin' the spotlight.
