Someone suggested eastern blue bird. The only night shot was a skunk.

Those "might" be female eastern bluebirds, our male eastern bluebirds are much bluer. I'm not sure though, they could be young ones just getting adult feathers.

The bird bath has been very busy. The bluebirds are still here. The cardinal is a permanent resident. Guess he's trying to claim his territory.

Yes, I think they are bluer. Is that possible? When they are in the trees they really stand out. I'm sure they are just passing through, but it's a treat to see them.

We have several water sources around the yard, but this rock bird bath is the absolute favorite.

The blue birds are still here. They are standing on the patio in the shade of potted plants. It is very hot; I feel sorry for all the animals. Refreshed the bird bath again and there are three more water sources by the house. Supposed to have a cold front come in this weekend.
I found a little beautiful blue feather.

It has been a hard summer in so many places. We have gotten off lightly overall though it is dry. The cold front hopefully provides some welcome relief!

The trees in our area, however, are already turning colors, and a local vet is predicting an early winter based on the animal hair growth. I’ve noticed my minis are getting a thicker coat.

Billy is fluffing up too. I was afraid to clip him again as he was cold last winter and I was worried he wouldn't fluff up again in time.

We've had a little rain and it's much cooler, so the bird bath has been pretty quiet. Some nocturnal visitors, though. I don't think this is a mouse--look at that tail.
