I was at the AQHA World Show last week and finally broke down and bought one after admiring them for a couple of years. I have some friends who collect them and was just wondering who all here does! I would LOVE to have a place to display (and lots of $$$$) all 60+ that are out there!

The one I got is Heavenly Pony. It really caught my eye at all the vendors who carried it. Beautiful shade of blue with horseheads down the side.

I started collecting them a couple of years ago after Nancy (Equuisize) got me started on my first one for Christmas...and I've been hooked ever since!!! She started me off on the right track with my Rt. 66 horse ( and the beautiful War Pony mug)...I also got the War Pony appy...gosh they're sooo beautiful!!!

Check out their web site....have you seen the horse sized statues? Awesome!!!!

Just bought my first one a few weeks ago - Running with the ancestors- It has a hand print on the left rear. I thought that was really neat since our last name is Hand.

I don't officially collect them but I have 4 now. I bought the fireman horse a couple years ago because it was a horse and my hubby is a firefighter (fits us both). Then I've gotten a few as gifts since then. I really want the fallen heros horse this year. It's bronze on a block with a fire helmet, police hat and fire hat. It has the black tack with the backwards boots in the stirrups. Really cool!

Yep have been for about 2 years now, my SIL started it christmas before last and got me one for an early B day present (my b days in Jan so I get my gift at X-mas cause that's about the only time I see the inlaws). I've got 4 right now. Saw the cow ponie one in the Drysdales cataloge that's the one I'm hoping for this year!

I received the Floral Pony this year as part of my filly's Champion of Champion futurity win in Pinto! I really love it and have been thinking about collecting others.

don't consider myself a collector of them, but I do have 7 now!

I have 6 of them now. My daughter thinks I need to collect them. LOL But they are beautiful, and I do like getting them. I have the cow pony, war pony, heavenly pony, apple loosa (that one , from a friend, started the collection), poker pony (least favorite) and my favorite is the fallen heros. Daughter just looked through them last night....looks like I'll have another one under the Christmas tree this year.

Gosh, I just realized I got my first one just 15 months ago. My collection is growing pretty fast.

My husband has given me 2. One was for when I had our son- Heavenly Pony

& the other is the quarter horse.

I really like the Christmas painted ponies that they have come out with. Am adding it to my Christmas wish list.

A good friend of mine, who is an internationally-known artist(AND, a well-regarded former Miniature horse owner and breeder!), did one of the ORIGINAL, life-sized, one-of-a-kind standing Ponies. I was privileged to see it, as well as several of the other originals, in Taos back when the first group was completed and being offered for purchase. You would have to see them to believe how GORGEOUS they were-it was one of the few times in my life that I REALLY would have liked to be rich, so I could have bought one or more!

If you go to the Painted Ponies website, and click on "Gallery"(in the column on the left), then on "Archive of Painted Ponies", you can see all of the original, life-sized ones. Valerie's is on the page of ponies 61-80, 4th row down, 3rd from the left--entitled "Taos NEIGHbors". I would about have KILLED to have been able to buy it...can't recall who did, but it has never been reproduced in any form or size, so obviously, the owner has not given permission. Another one I REALLY liked was"Dreams Really Do Come True"-the one with a youngster lying forward, while riding bareback, on the neck of a brilliantly multicolored steed. You just couldn't believe the BRILLIANCE of the colors(no photograph does any of the original Ponies I have seen justice, believe me!!)
