You've been busy!! Congratulations! :aktion033: :aktion033: If you're gonna have a boy year they should all look like that! :bgrin I do hope your last one's a filly.....I know how you feel, my first 2 were colts and I still have 2 to go. We need to do the filly fairy dance.....we'll have to ask Reo how that goes! :risa8: :488: :risa8:

Wow! What color is the second one? Will he be black? What color is the sire? Is he the same sire to all of them?

Thanks everyone. As far as color, that first colt is out of a Perlino I had, which makes that mare NOT a sorrel pinto like I thought for years. That colt has to be a smokey black and the mare would have to be a Silver Bay or a Palomino. Because according to the color site, a sorrel would have produced a buckskin or palomino, which is what I excpected. I couldn't believe it when I saw that black head coming out! She has palominos on her bottom side, bay on top. The last foal is from Cheyenne, both of my pinto studs are homozygous.

Congratulations on your beautiful boys! Regarding the color, it IS possible to get a Smokey Black foal out of a Perlino stallion and a Sorrel mare. Perlino has a Black gene. It is a double diluted Bay. If the stallion passes on the Black gene, but not the Agouti, you get a Smokey Black. If the stallion were a Cremello rather than a Perlino, it would be impossible to get a Smokey Black from a Sorrel mare.

Marnie,

It was fun visiting today and Robert really enjoyed the tour. Your babies this year are really special!
