If every commercial was taken off the air because someone didn't like it,,,,,,,I'm thinking there would be none.

At some point we have to hope most people have "sense". As with many commercials, I believe the idea behind it is entertainment, as that type of marketing is rather popular.

MUCH can be done with "what" you see these days, due to high tech and computers.

Do you really thing the "King" from Burger King is playing in that football game????

Enjoy it for what it's worth, or simply turn the channel.

Sorry, you are not convincing me....

I still think its STUPID and I just hate commercials that insult my intelligence...

But I am wondering what the laws on using animals in movies and such are in France?? I remember a movie not long ago that was really downplayed because they filmed horses being tripped and it was filmed in another country to bypass our laws....

Does anyone know???

Did the Budweiser ad make you go out and buy a Clydsdale and teach it to throw snowballs??? Lighten up!!!
LOL i was thinking the same thing -

I think well I understand everyone feeling passionate about things but sometimes I think like another poster mentioned our energy can be best spent on other issues affecting our breed

You mean he's not? OH NO!! Next you'll tell me he's not real!! :new_shocked: :bgrin

krisp

First before complaining, I would find out if this was REAL or if this is computer generated and special effects!!! :new_shocked:

Add me to the list of those who thought it was cute! :bgrin I also really enjoyed that commerical with the weenie dog farm a couple years ago. Don't recall what it was for, but it will always stick in my memory, just at this ad will.

I thought the ad was cute as well but I have reservations about the "type" of marketing this will bring to minis. Not all advertising is "good" and this is one I would be worried that some people may get the impression that minis can carry adults :new_shocked: That to me is not a good thing at all. I don't think this kind of publicity for the miniature horse is worth the potential $$ to breeders to perhaps have some of your horses used in this manner by uneducated and stupid people.

Get real people, uneducated and stupid people will do uneducated and stupid things anyway. I have seen people jump off cliffs with a mountain dew, put on shorts straight out of the freezer, and drive a car onto a moving truck ramp at 60 mph, does that make me do these things???? Did the kids mention who rode the mini and broke its back watch this commercial first??? If you are selling horses educate the buyer. If we all behaved according to what we saw on TV no one would be left alive!

:bgrin Those Roadrunner cartoons would have killed me long ago if my brother was convinced he could drop an anvil on my head

Then why give them this added ammunition to do this with? Aren't we trying to educate people about miniature horses, the general public. I am willing to bet the reaction of course if of one laughter, it is funny but also I can hear people saying "gee, I didn't know that adults could ride these minis?".

I sent the link to my sister who is not a horse owner nor did I write anything in the email or subject line. She called me about 5 minutes later and she said to me word for world "Is this suppose to be funny because if it is it's not". I said well yes I guess it's suppose to be funny and her reaction to that was "it's cruel".

I am just saying that for those that perhaps will see this as an opportunity for miniature horses to be showcased in media, I have always said that bad publicity is not what is needed. No adult should ride a mini and if you think otherwise well

I also am one that thought it was funny....

Come on now guys....It's not real

I found it amusing and they did get their point across.....

I had someone one time send me an email about a 'bonsai kitty' that was 'selling' over the internet. These 'poor kittens' are raised in bottles and become very thin and the shape of the bottle (look this up on the internet) I cannot tell you how many HORRIFIED people wanted to know where they could complain to- and some actually the ASPCA involved.... they had photos and all.... order your own bonsai kitty...

It was a computer generated prank by two college students (who actually had too much time on their hands) and had been passed around as true. Now come on.....

Well.....

However... :bgrin

As somone who has MINI RACE HORSES....um.....

I beg to differ their "point" of the ad. :risa_suelos:

on a serious note though...

It does seem to show some of them are carrying the full weight of their riders....

They might have made a better example of getting their point across by having an appropriately hitched MINI RACE HORSE in a racing competition with an appropriately hitched STANDARDBRED RACE HORSE.

Less potential of an outcry for cruel acts, and greater "visual" of speed differences, LOL!

Trust me...when we trained our minis right along while the Standardbred folks were training their "big 'uns", we always looked like "the little engine that could"...and my mare, Desi, always had her tongue out to the side (her choice, not mine), just like those big boys and they always commented to me that she looked to them like she was saying "I think I can, I think I can", as she was trotting her little heart out to keep up.
