Well, I thought I was being tricky today and hid my husband's card and gift in his box that he takes back and forth from home to work, etc since he was heading 3 hours away to Portland today. It said "Don't open until Feb 14th" since he will be working out of town until Wednesday. I walked into my bedroom tonight to set the alarm for tomorrow morning and there, on the bedside table, was a card and a box from my husband. I, of course, opened the box right away and there was a beautiful silver bracelet with three hearts on it. It is sooo pretty. Now, don't get me wrong, it has taken over a decade to teach him that jewelry is better than a lawn mower anyday.

I bet he couldn't fit a lawnmower into that little box else that would have been what you got ;)

A lawnmower...hehe better than a toilet seat even so.

I bet someone would be hesitant to refund on a toilet seat yet a lawnmower no prob!

We are looking forward to Valentines Day. I have taken the day off from work and we are going to head on over to Louisiana for some gambling at the Horseshoe casino and then have a nice lunch then head home before traffic picks up.

Just another day for me....no special plans for me.

Bittersweet day here, but still very special. Samantha will be 21 tomorrow.

Although I think jewlery is beautiful, and roses are too, I usually tell hubby no need for that... I usually make a nice dinner and get the kids a few sweets (not that they need the sugar

: ) and we just spend time together. We have agreed we really want to head to the Mt. Airy sale next month and save our $$$ for that.. Why would I want to spend it on jewlery when I could spend it on a horse :aktion033:

I have never been the jewelry type......Hubby has bought me beautiful jewelry in the past, but I only wear my wedding set and one other ring.........I just don't do much jewelry..........He has finally realized that he is better off spending his money on something I will enjoy.......and use.

This year, well...............I put a bug in his ear about a certain miniature I am dying to buy!LOL

Ok.......yes a little expensive, but I told him it could cover Valentines, Mother's Day, my Birthday.....etc.!LOL

I'll probably get a card!LOL

Can't Boycott it as it is my Bday.

Hubby has to go out of town for work, so we will do something this weekend.

Might be going to look at a nice steady PP mare for my Bday. That would be wonderful if it works out.

Keith works until late evening, so that cuts out dinner and much else (at least on Valentine's Day).

Over the years, we haven't done much in the way of gifts, but I love coming up with something creative or funny or just plain goofy.

One year I bought a pack of grade school Valentine's cards and addressed each one with one of his nicknames (I have hundreds for him...only a few are repeatable in public).

Another year I bought a package of red heart stickers and put them all over the house, in his wallet, on his guitar case...even one on his forehead while he slept.

One year I took several jazz standards and re-wrote the lyrics (Instead of Satin Doll, I wrote Inflatable Doll..."Well she's fun in the tub and I always take her to the beach...and when I let out her air I can always keep her within reach....")

Another year I bought a box of candy hearts, rubbed off all the sayings and replaced them with very naughty phrases.

I've also written several poems...from mildly risque to, umm, a bit obscene.

But these have to be done at the last possible moment for true creative inspiration to strike, so of course I haven't started a thing...

Hmm...too bad it's a bit early to clip the horses...I could come up with some VERY interesting images...

Sounds like true love to me, susanne!

So glad you posted, I have been wondering where you were. Hope you are feeling better. Didja get to see Mouse's new lil bro?

He should be at the Schooling Show (hard to believe having a babe old enough to show by that one).

I'm beginning to think all I can hope for on V-Day is to be not sick. I woke up this morning soooooo sick (throwing up) and that's not going to be fun if it doesn't ease up when we go to the memorial later today.

Hubby and I sort of celebrated early and went out yesterday. We spent Saturday night watching movies and making out like teenagers (hehe--hey, that is nice to have even after 10 years of marriage!) and then got up and went out to lunch at Red Lobster yesterday. We then went and just walked hand in hand around a mall and my favorite book stores. It is the first time in a looong time we have been out together (heck, that I have been out at all!) and it was just super nice. He also sent me a beautiful ivy plant that goes up over a heart to my work that got here this morning. Yeah, I am one lucky gal!

Well, I'm not exactly boycotting it, but as a single person it can be a bit of a "high pressure" holiday. However, it is a great day to call my friends and family and tell them how much I love them!

: HOPING TO GET TWO LITTLE BUNDLES OF JOY TOMORROW FOR VALENTINES DAY, IF IT HAPPENS WILL POST PICTURE HERE, OR RATHER HAVE SOMEONE PROBABLY DO IT FOR ME.

Definately NOT boycotting but we'll have to wait until the weekend to celebrate.

But I wanted to wish an early Happy Birthday to Marty and Shari!

Happy Anniversary Just Another Cowgirl.......

Happy B-days (early) to those that have V-day birthdays......

I have to say, my hubby did great with the anniversary gift.....I got one of those round diamond necklaces....I think they call them circles of love?..... and a lovely bouquet of lillies, red & white carnations & some other little filler flowers......it's just beautiful.

Hope all of you have a nice Valentines day tomorrow, even those that boycott it, I used to boycott it also, but my husband is the romantic one of the two of us, so there ya have it....... not that I am complaining, because I have some really nice jewelry because of it!
