Friday may 19th started with Classy pacing her stall from midnight on. By the looks of her I knew not to bother trying to sleep and at about 1:30am she foaled a very well cooked red colt with big star and strip, not sure about white on legs yet. This is a repeat breeding to Ranger and last year we got a tiny blk overo filly.
With about 8 mares bagging up I didn't get much sleep and off goes the alarm again at about 8 am. I stagger up to look as we have way too many ready mares and our 4 stall foaling barn was full and none of them were doing anything. I check out the foaling yard and dont see any action. Then up pops a short horse from the hay pile and I see Lady a leopard appy is laying down in the piles of hay ! Very lucky for me she had the baby fine and it got out of the sack. And best of all I see from across the pen its an APPY!!!! Its a beautiful headed, refined, elegant bay appy colt but I can already see spots under the bay outer coat and he is white all underneath so we got another bay leopard sired by Flash. I think this is 1 super nice boy and I sure hope he gets sold fast because my husband is already saying lets keep him! And we have PLENTY of nice stallions already,lol.
These are all the appy boy, sorry for so many pix but I cant take a bad one of him!!! When I look at him that silly song "Im too Sexy" comes to mind, what can I say Im sleep deprived and watching a PBS disco
special on tv.
