After only 57 days, our Hope (the mother I referred to in my post last night) gave birth to six gorgeous little pups this morning starting at 7:30! There's only one female among them, so it's obvious which one we're going to keep. Hope is mostly white with some black and a brindle head, and the male had much more black with tan on his face. These babes mostly have more black than Hope and only a couple of them seem to have gotten any of the brindle and just on their cheeks. They're already busy and active, and obviously very healthy.

Taz, Hope's 3 y.o. daughter who is due any day now with her first litter, is just beside herself with curiosity and excitement! She actually tried to take one of the pups while Hope was busy cleaning off another, but I let her know that wasn't a good idea! Taz is at 56 days after her first cover, so of course we're watching her very closely.

If I figure out how to post pictures, I will.

you cant really tell what color newborn pups are as they will change rapidly over the next couple weeks. we have tri colors but you cant see it until later. congrats!

Congratulations Momma! Didn't know you were breeding dogs? Guess by the sound of your post this is your first venture though. Jacks are adorable dogs but you've got your hands full now! Wow...2 litters in the wintertime...good thing they are a small breed ehh? Have fun!

Very good for you, glad all went well! Don't know abput Jacks but a lot of breeds you never know what color they are until they are much older. Such a poodle many are born black but change as they get older to silver ,blue or apricot. So you just don't know.

Congratulations! It's such a relief when everybody's safely on the ground and all is well! Enjoy them!
