What age is good for a mare to get bred?

I have a mare that is 2 years old and
im wondering when you guys prefer what age is best to breed a mare. Her birth date was April 12th 2019. This is my pretty girl.

My personal feeling is two fold. One, your mare is still a baby and needs to mature before thinking of breeding her. I would not consider it myself until a horse was at least 5 years old if not 7. Second, what has she done to prove she will improve the breed? Have you shown in confirmation or any in hand or driving classes? You also won't know until she is fully mature if there are any other genetic or structural issues that would not be good to pass on.

I wouldn't consider breeding her until she was at least four years old. But they aren't fully mature even then. Do you have any other plans for her? Showing, driving, etc.? Besides beauty and conformation, a good mind is so very important. You won't know that until well into training.

Agree that age 4 is the youngest to consider..... It also depends on the individual mare.

Shes lovely , I would wait until shes at least 4-5 years old.
