What did everyone get for Christmas?

Oh my gosh, I went nuts on the horse stuff for the first Christmas since I was 13. I couldn't think of anything I just had to have for myself so I started with my equine wish list, and then when I finally thought of things for myself it was too late! LOL.

I got...

-my remaining $60 worth of horse shoe debt from November written off

-an English bridle for Kody, black and brass special order

-nylon lunging surcingle

-warm winter driving gloves as a stocking stuffer

-"Trickonometry" book which didn't get here in time from Amazon. Hopefully I can keep Kody busy until spring learning new tricks!

I bought myself...

-an $1,800 used show cart

-a green rainproof driving cooler

-used Myler bit

-materials at the hardware store to make a pair of sliding sidereins to go with that lunging surcingle and bridle

And for other stuff I got some paperback books, a couple DVD's, a neat Pyrex insulated food container for those horse show potlucks and my mom finally gave me that really nice coat of hers I've been borrowing.

I bought my parents TiVo and we finally got some large storage shelves for the basement, and we're looking at a new wheelbarrow as well. I also got $50 from my grandma. That will be going straight to some awesome horse training books I think I can apply to driven dressage or long-lining Kody. Woohoo!

Now I just need that darn synthetic harness so I can actual drive in the rain. And of course I won't be able to afford that until spring when it finally stops raining! LOL.

Lookin' good for spring CDE's!

I am also a spolied girlie.

My barn kids "ganged" up on me and got me a day at the spa (made me cry, they are such thoughtful girls!), my dad's girlfriend got me a gift certificate to my favorite hair salon with my favorite stylist (Who costs about 250 to just sit in the chair with, but Holy cow the way my hair looks afterwards....) Then my SO got me a full out manicure/pedicure from my other fav place to go, as well as the most thoughtful/sweet card Ever!...

I got a Very nice fancy padded/stiched show bridle that I had been lusting after for Ever from my wonderful mother, as well as some lovely clothes from my favorite store (Anthropology)

My SO also got me lights for my arena (YEAH!) and some of my favorite perfume and beautiful earrings that match the ring he gave me last christmas...

Hymm... Oh my wonderful trainer gave me neat-o speakers for my iPod, and other students gave me nice bath stuff.

Whats way more fun for me though is the Giving! I get such a kick out of spoiling my family and friends!

I made off like a scalded bandit this year...

The Jerald A show cart that I've used for the past three years is now mine--the owner decided to sell it...and guess who has it now? But then again, I've arranged my driving outfit to go with it, and I've driven it on several test drives(ie: somewhere above 15 competitions). LOL I was totally willing to buy it myself(wasn't going to let it slip through my hands), but hey...I'll take it as a present!

Some half-chaps for riding, socks, bell boots for Ref, winter driving gloves, mini leg wraps, horse grooming wipes, horse(mule!) treats and balls, driving calendar, extra small rosettes for Pippin and two sets of show rosettes, a very nice set of tools(along the same lines as a Leatherman, just with some other stuff too), and the Mighty Minis DVD of Fascination and Elvis.

I've already watched the Mighty Minis DVD about 15 times and gone riding too.

I had a good Christmas

We were at H's parents' on Christmas Eve and my parents' on Christmas morning and had a good time both places.

For the past few years, it's really hard to think of things I'd like as gifts because if I want it and it is within reason, I get it myself. This year my presents from me to me were four new show horses, my first grown up truck, a mini trailer, diamond earrings, etc. You know, the non-neccessities that keep us smiling.

Harvey feels the same way so this year, we are just going to take time off next week and go antique shopping together. We want to get 3 oak dressers, 2 oak wash stands, and if we can find it, a pine side board / cupboard kind of thing for in the kitchen.

I'm looking the most forward to just having time off together to have fun. It's been a long time since we took time off together and weren't working on a project. I'm so excited to have a big block of time off together!

My sister gave us some really soft and nice towels, wash clothes, hand towels and rugs for our bathroom, which we had remodeled this year. I've never had such soft / lush towels! They are the prettiest shade of pink.

My parents gave us $$$ which we're adding to our antique shopping fund to use next week

Yesterday, I got myself a purse I had wanted -- wanted it so much I bought it for my sister as a Christmas present. Kept thinking I wanted one just like it for myself so got it yesterday. It was like on double sale (25% off, then another 20% off that) and I got a $40 "bonus bucks" coupon at the time I bought Robin's purse (and one for my mother in law). So anyway, should I be happy I got my purse for $26, or upset that I paid $107 to get Robin the identical purse??? Anyhow...

The main thing I got that I love is a new digital camera. I got a Sony Cybershot with 12X zoom and 5.1 megapixels. It's totally automatic or manual. Takes faster pix, which I really wanted. It's going to take me some time to figure out!! I also got a DVD player for our bedroom and a new George Foreman grill. It was a very nice Christmas. Can't wait to start taking some action shots of the minis. Weather has been windy and yucky so haven't taken the camera outside yet.
