iluvwalkers is absolutely correct. horses are considered an "attractive nuisance" and if you hang a sign that indicates danger, it pretty much tells the world that you KNOW there is a potential for injury to others.
i had this same problem when i boarded a yearling colt at the edge of town. i had noticed him getting "mouthy" with me and i chalked it up to him being a colt. it kept getting worse and worse until one day, as i was walking out into the pasture to halter him, he came at me with bared teeth and took me over the fence. the old guy who lived there came outside and told me that he had been feeding this colt leftover breakfast toast smeared with jelly as well as handfuls of sugar cubes every day. when i didn't have a treat for him, he decided he'd teach me a lesson. it took me a while to undo what the old man had done.
