Okay, so I'm a member of another forum. I was posting about my boy Pete's growth spurt/high butt. Well, one of our members who is pretty educated about dwarfism (the genetics) commented saying that my boy could be a dwarf. I was in awe. My boy, Pete, is 29-30'' at the shoulder and he's 8 month old. His butt, on the other hand is 33-34'' tall. His cannons support the fact that he'll mature to be 33-34'' tall. We've previously discussed the fact that he went through a growth spurt in June/July, and is butt high from it. I think we've (us on here, the forum) had decided that he'd grow and still be a little butt high still after he matures. But dwarf?
I'm honestly not seeing it.
Here's some pictures of him-
So, this is Pete in May, slightly butt high:
In July, right after a growth spurt in June:
In September:
In November:
In December:
Are you guys seeing anything? Or am I just blind? Another member (who doesn't exactly like me) poked in and said this:
Please tell me what you guys think, as fellow miniature horse breeders and owners. Dwarf? Or just a colt who went through a growth spurt and is SLOWLY leveling out (at 33-34'' tall?

I've had dwarves before. More than a few to the point of embarrassment. I know what a dwarf looks like. To me, it would never cross my mind that he would be one. Carrier? Sure, along with 90% (I'm throwing that out of my butt) of the rest of the miniature horse population.Dwarfism does not only show in height. There are other characteristics there too. Ruling him out as not being a dwarf just because he is bigger makes no sense.
