:aktion033: The best thing I found this year is when I placed an add for helpers I got two best friends Emma and Ally!! They keep all my mini girls shiney and silkey and they do it with a smile and such enthusiasm that they make me feel young again. Thye are wonderful and my mini girls think so too!!

Hmm I think my favorite thing would be my little vaccum cleaner...after i saw the vac and blow...I knew i was out on a mission to find something that would do the job...so i went to walmart and got on that was a whole $20 and its great...My horses are def. cleaner...not to mention we do have alil vac and blow at the barn but i dont really like using other people's stuff...

Oh yeah, we don't have a food land this way...but i know i would love to have one of those small pairs hoof nippers for a buck.....can anyone help me get a pair LOL

I've tried every kind of wood bedding available to cut down on dust and horses eating it. From pelleted bedding to every size of shaving, but none really worked. So I decided to try cardboard recently and so far, so good! :aktion033: The horses don't eat it, water consumption is down and the dust is at a minimum. I think I'm going to like this!

The Airlite bedding is a little larger piece, the Ovation bedding that my feed store is now carrying, seems to be a little smaller. I do use my Fine Tines fork with it. It might take a little longer to sift, but I sure like the fact that there is no dust and the horses don't eat it!

Maryann pretty please where did your hubby find the springs??? That would be a Big help. Me I would have to say the Platform feed for Mini's.

I finally got the pics of the clippers with the added springs. These were nippers

we already had. Just added the springs. They do sometimes come off but overall

they work very well , and really saves your hands.

This address was on the papers in the box,but the price was not on there.

If we ordered 10 I am sure they were not that much. LOL !!! maryann

Jill I also purchased the Double K's this year. You put those Titanium blades on them and its like a "HOT knife through butter"!

I too got the Double Ks and they're the greatest thing since sliced bread! I used to have to use the wide blades to get the winter hair off and the clippers I had would get hot in my hand but these stay so cool that I only have to test the blades to see if they get too hot.

The next best thing is that I learned how to use the little "pocket pro" clippers from Wahl on the ears. The blade on them cuts like a #30 and they are really small and quiet plus no cord to deal with.

Does anyone know in canada where one might find one of those huge big balls they use to train big horses, my little guys just love their small exercise ones and they go through them pretty fast. I think the really big horse ones may be tougher and last longer. Also does anyone sell double k clippers in canada as well and is there a web site ?

The best place I've found to get both the blades and the clippers is Rob Crater of The Clipper Barn. He stands behind his product and is very easy to work with!

I love the Platform feed for minis as well! It's been working wonders on my herd :bgrin

I know my horses couldn't live with out their little shelters that I made this year. I took cattle panels, bent them into a curve and tied them to t-posts with wire and then stretched tarps across them! They work wonderfully and even withstand the HUGE winds we have around here! Thanks to all that use these and share the idea with all of us!! :aktion033:

Those rake things are AWESOME! I remember when Mona told us and I was happy to hear about them. My horses love to be raked

Also, I first heard about these Groomeez brushes here, and they are also wonderful for shedding minis.

RE: the 911 paste - can anyone who has it share the ingredients? I'm curious about the stuff, and tried to look up more about it, but didn't find the ingredients.

One of my big horses has chronic diarrhea and I'm wondering if the 911 would help. I've tried just about everything else, it seems!

Here is a good thing to keep minis buisy and help with the winter boardom (sp) I had in my garage a 3 foot long if not longer PVC black hard plastic pipe hanging around and I had no use for it, I think it must be 3 or 4 inches round and I put it in with the minis. They just love it and try to bite it and paw at it, so funny watching them try to pick it up and watching they rolling it around on the ground. It is long enough so it can not be picked up or get stuck in their mouths, also after the last snow fall we had (3 feet)the PVC was lost and covered over with snow - guess my guys love it so much that they managed to find it and dig it back up.

I do not leave it with them when they go into their dry lot at night, but they sure keep there selves buisy with it - gotta give it a try it is so fun to watch - pipe/tube can be bought at any hardware store / not really cheap but worth every cent and I am sure once they get bored I will find another use for it.

Also I bought a dogs squeeky dumbell toy and when it is warm it is soft and squeeks but outside in the cold it is hard :no: squeek though.

I wonder though if it could crack and peices break off ( right now I only let them have them while I am around ) would be nice to give them something to play with at night.
