My horses are going to attened their ritual big grooming fest in the barn. We have go to condition those tails that keeping dragging in the mud. I'll probably get out some good old tube socks and bag a couple.

Then I thought I'd go hiking with Nick on the old trail up on the ridge. He loves that and boy we sure could use some exercise. He packed on the pounds during the winter and looks like a miniature Freisian. So do I. We'll take my dog Tracey for protection just in case we run into some unfriendly wildlife.

Michael is going to be trimming feet. He doesn't know it yet, but he's capable and he also works for food. I'm sure he will be delighted.

Jerry and I are going to be still working on fencing and hot wire. He doesn't know that yet either and he also works for food.

If the round pen isn't muddy, Chrissy and Ebbie are going to being thier conditioning program because they are way fat too.

Then Sonny, Timmy, and Merry Beth is going to do a photo shoot for some new products I am going to market on my website. They're the ones that will hold still the best for pictures. Well ok Timmy will probably be goofing around but I'll talk him into it somehow.

Afterwards, I am up to my eyeballs in paperwork here so I'll pull up a TV tray and watch Sci-Fi while I work on it. Maybe Sheryl up at Irish Springs will come haul me off for a Big Mac if she isn't working on her barn.

Come git me Sheryl!

So, whatchyerhorsesdointhisweekend?

Stay safe and enjoy! Timmy says to tell you "God Bless Us Everyone" and be extra careful out there if yalls are haulin around.

The new horse we picked up last weekend has been shaved, so it is an all time ordeal just to figure out what she needs. Less blankets, more blankets, ok to turn out for an hour without? It was warm enough a couple of afernoons this past week, then I hear this weekend it could get down to 29 :new_shocked: So back on with the blankets!

We are getting our show side of the barn ready for the show horses, cleaning, organizing, and will be ready to move them all around by next weekend. I was to have a load of screening brought in and dumped to redo the show stalls flooring with, but we had a big rain and now the guy said he doesn't want to get stuck by bringing it now. That will have to wait. But I do love cleaning out the barn, and making a place for everything.

We have our Arkansas Miniature Horse Society club meeting tomorrow, need to finalize some more things to do with our AMHR show in August at Tunica!

Superbowl on Sunday---will I get it all done?

Ooops, forgot to mention, we are going to run by Erica's and see the new addition! :bgrin

Well, I got an e-mail from our lesees saying Billie is having his teeth done and having the winter off because his yak hair is just to warm for our mild winter. He got too fuzzy to drive in the above 0 weather we've been having so hes lazing around till it either gets cold, or spring hits and he sheds out. I know he has a pretty little girl who loves to brush and fuss over him, so maybe hes getting his hair done this weekend too. Next week or the week after I should be taking a trip to see him.... maybe even this Sunday if I play my cards right.

My horses are hosting a "Mini Event" at our barn. Several people from a big horse board that I frequent decided that they needed to come see what this mini horse thing is all about so we are having about 20 or so visitors. I have a friend bringing over driving and performance horses so they can see minis in action, including jumping and obstacles. We are clipping heads and necks on a few so they can see the difference. And everyone of the minis are in for alot of hugging and petting. I just have to keep warning these people that guards will be posted at the gate to check all vehicles before leaving in case a mini has "decided" to jump in and leave with them.

But we are having snacks and hopefully lots of fun.

Sunday I am going to vegetate.

Well, I know of one little sorrel mare that is HAVING A PALOMINO FILLY!

Hawk ... this is him:

is going to start learning to be a driving horse! He's always been a basket case, and now, at three years old, I think his brains have finally come in! I've got him now to trot beside me ... this is a huge step, for ages I'd cluck and move forward and he'd spin around and stare at me like I was nuts, or the scariest thing he'd ever seen in his life. But three years of extra scratches for him every chance I got, and he's finally decided I'm not so bad after all! Yesterday I even caught him way out on the quarter section ... a big deal, since we used to have to bring the whole herd in (they come a running when you call and he comes with them) and corner him.

Also have someone coming to look at our too-big colts for a 4H horse, and I love showing people my horses!

Grooming! :new_shocked: My kids are playing in the mud. Won't be any pretty kids here til it either freezes or dries up!

Bubba my mini driving gelding managed to injure his eye....was totally opaque and bulging Thurs. Took him to the vet and now on eye meds. Looks a lot better today(not bulging anymore) and his vision seems intact. He gets to see the vet again Mon. The other guys are wallowing in mud from the storm last night. The good news is(and I'll believe it when I see it) we're supposed to have no rain all next week!! Whoopee!!! Of course we're having a Super Bowl party tomorrow. If the weather is as nice as they say it is I may get to draft some kids into doing a major mini-grooming session.

Well yesterday I rode anoki (he was sooo good!!

: ) and had a very quick grooming session with the little 'uns (they had a mud party the day before!). Today they were all huddled up in the barn avoiding the rain and snow crap that has everyone stuck at home tonight, and probably tomorrow by the sounds of it!

But earlier today I was at a dog show with the Moxie dog!!! She is such a good little girl!! Had one heck of a drive home through the above mentioned weather (rain, freezing rain, snow...oh boy!). Good thing we were only showing today!!!!
