Well we are going to be home and watch the fireworks from our back yard into the city about 25 miles away as we are high on a hill and can see good from here. Can't hear the noise of the fireworks as too far but can see them nice and clear.

So what you going to be doing!!!

If y'all party be safe

Don't drink and drive!!

I'd rather stay home but we've been invited to a birthday party for one of my husband's co-workers.

New Year's and I don't seem to agree....so I will most likely stay at home....fall asleep on the couch before midnight

(maybe watch a movie) but I will also be in decent shape to muck stalls the next morning!

As every year, I watch the time closely. And 2-3 minutes before midnight, I run in and start a long kiss with hubby that lasts from one year and 2-3 minutes into the next year.

Jerry and I never go out on New Year's Eve and we never drink, not even a beeer has ever seen this house. We are such homebodies I swear we should get the most boring couple award. We will just get in our reclyners, watch Dick Clark, (by the way I hear he's hosting again THANK GOD he's going to be ok) until we just fall asleep. Unless of course the Beach Boys or Bon Jovi will be on and then that would change things. We really never make it to midnite.

This year the boys have said they are wanting to go to a party off the mountain. I am a complete wreck over this one. The cops will have many road blocks up and be checking like crazy for drunks, but I really don't want to let them out and asked if they could maybe just have the party over here.

I am a member of MADD, Mother's Against Drunk Driving, for very personal reasons, so please be sure you guys if you go out, have a designated driver and try some non-alcoholic beverages this time. Less drinking and more dancing on tables. Please!

We'll be home, and if we decide to go to a friends house I'm the designated driver.

However I can assure you we WILL be home before midnight. Hubby likes to ring in the new year snoring.

Well, last year was definately a party year for me. I'm not into drinking (even though I'm old enough) so I'm usually the designated driver, but I love to dance and hang with my friends. This year though I think that we are going to have friends over to our house and mostly just hang out here. It won't get wild just tell lots of stories and catch up on the old times, maybe make it to midnight, but probably not

I'm a home body like Marty, even though I'm only 28. We don't get invited to any New Year parties(never have). We'll let the kids stay up as long as they can hold their eyes open (they are 3 &6) , have snacks, and go to bed. I'll probably be on the forum that night.

We will stay home, maybe open a bottle of wine and watch Dick Clark. (I'm also glad he's going to be back this year; wouldn't be the same without him). We always talk about going into Boise and joining one of the big shindigs, but dodging drunks on icy roads just doesn't sound fun. And I always worry about leaving the horses alone on any holiday that involves firecrackers. They always get a special snack just before midnight to help keep their minds off the noise.

The lord willing and the creek don`t rise I will be with my daughter and her family in Texas to greet the New Year. She has promised lots of food, a bottle of wine and lots of hugs from the kids (they won`t make it until midnight) . Having family around is going to make up for being alone on Christmas. The girls and I have decided that will never ever happen again. For the rest of you HAPPY NEW YEARS.

We are at our son and daughter-in-laws house in Glenallen Alaska. They

are planning a huge bonfire in the yard with all their friends dropping in.

At -2 to -10 being predicted DH and I will be in the house watching Dick Clark and

drinking our coke.

Headed back to Arizona and 70 + degree weather on Tuesday. It's beautiful here

but I need to thaw out!!!

We had planned to stay home - can't imagine doing anything else with a week old baby - but the comedian Louie Anderson is doing a New Years Eve Show in Minneapolis. Louie is from Minnesota and has known my husband Bob for years and years and he called my husband a couple of times last week and this week to see how the new baby was doing and he gave us tickets to his show. My mom is going to watch the baby and we are going to go. He is a super, super nice guy and one of the few really funny comedians that is able to be funny without getting really dirty and swearing a lot in his act. We went to his show last year too and the show ended around 11:30PM and instead of sticking around for cocktails and such we raced home to ring in the New Year with our kids and also to get off the roads and avoid the drunken drivers.

We are staying home. We always do....at least ever since we had kids. It's just much safer sitting at home.

We are having family over on the 1st to celebrate a belated Christmas, so New Years Eve this year will be spent cleaning and getting ready for company.

Voodoo, I usually spend New Year's like you. I invite some of my oldest and dearest friends over and we watch videos and catch up on our lives as we're away at college and never see each other. I have been known alternately to lurk on the couch in multiple years. Two years ago I watched the extended version of Lord of the Rings while at my aunt's in CA just to pretend I'd done something. Last year I was supposed to be doing this big romantic cruise with catered dinner at an island lodge with my SO but he waited too long hoping his sister could get us in free (she's a captain with the cruise line) and the tickets were sold out when he finally went to buy them. We spent that New Years sitting in agrieved silence in the living room watching fireworks on TV.
rolleyes.gif

I swore Jan. 1 2005 that the next year I was going on that cruise no matter what. So even though I'm not in the mood to do it this year, gosh darn if I don't have tickets! LOL. So I will be on a cruise ship on Puget Sound (sans island dinner), dancing to the DJ and pretending I like champagne until the fireworks explode over the Space Needle and reflect gloriously off Elliot Bay and Lake Washington. No actual drinking though, I just can't make myself like alcohol. I am ALWAYS the designated driver of any group but since none of my friends drink either I'm hardly alone.

Be safe!

Last year we were invited to my cousins house and my friends house so we ended up going to both places, but usually we just stay home and go out for dinner and rent movies....that's what we have planned for this year.

I will be working, I will be there until about 2 am!

I work at a local hotel, waitressing one night a week!

I love it, it is my night out!!

New Year's Eve is always like a comedy show, people do very strange things when they have too much booze and are determined to have a good time
wink.gif

I am always happy to work because I don't like going out on New Years. My family think I am very strange and boring
biggrin.gif
They will all be over in Ireland having a rip, roaring good time! Irish people are very social and evreyone I know would make a night of it!

Im spending my new years on LB.com thank you very much!!!

Might drink some Coffee ...lol, might add sugar just for the kick! Who knows.

But nothing special for me, Just watch the fireworks on tv since the tree's in our woods grew to high to watch the fireworks uptown and no way am i going out at midnight to watch 3 minutes of fireworks all theway up town. lol ..im lazy.

But i'm going to make it to midnight this year ..i swear.

Last year i had friends over and i layed down while they got on the net and fell asleep. They woke me up at 11:45 and i just didnt have the stamina to care about 05' or fireworks ..this year i got coffee!
