Oh my goodness these girls of ours REALLY need to get foaling.

I'm sleep deprived watching the following mares:

Alamos Sirs Splendid Tierra: 343 days with a hard bag

Alamos Sirs Elegant Fawn: Approximately 320 days and no bag

Alamos Sirs Diamond Allure: 319 days just started a bag within the last two days

Pine Ridge Minis Cloud Dancer: 331 days with a decent size bag

Allure's Ultimate Desire: 320 days no bag and a maiden mare

Hallmarks Boomers Bacall: 319 days just started a bag over night

Hallmarks Boomers Bianca: 320 days with a slight bag

Moss Grove Little Pocahontas: 325 days with a decent bag

Moss Grove Summer Breeze: 324 days and I don't dare touch her bag. I'm not thrilled about getting kicked. Ha!

But if all goes as planned she always foals out on the same exact day as "Bacall" every year.

No foal alert or camera's here just plenty of coffee/soda's to keep me awake. Before you know it the next group of mares will be ready. I'm beginning to think that there all going to foal out on EASTER DAY....

Who are you watching and how do you pass the time?

I can't imagine! And with no cameras? You are Superwoman! LOL My maiden went 372 days last year...just saying
default_wink.png

Yep, no cameras. O.K. Matt don't put the foaling hex on me.... We had one the first year that went 363 days and I thought that was LONG. I can't imagine 372 days. Insomnia is a true blessing around this time of year. Ha!

I have a blue roan, 23 year old Van Hutenest daughter, whom we were told last year could not foal again, after she absorbed a foal by a black Buckeroo son (ergh!). Let her run with my little King, for companionship. Sold her, with ownership rights, if some miracle happened and she had a foal. She is due April 1st and is safely at the vets. to foal there. Taking no chances with this foal, and praying alot about her.

Then three mares due at the end of April. Hope there do not come early, as we have Mid-West Horsefest in mid-april! They are all carrying so differant. 31.5 inch Bonnie Blu Eyes, is huge, and has been for about a month. Some mares get grumpy right before foaling--Bonnie is a drama queen and is grumpy for about the last 3 months. 29.5 inch Lottie is big, but nothing like Bonnie. 37.5 inch Shania looks quite trim, as she did last year, right up to foaling a tall colt! No-one has started a bag.

Then I have a mare, who I was going to send for driving training in July (after deciding she's not in foal) and now it looks like she is in foal! Due in July.

And my new Appy mare is due in either the fall or winter. Might send her to driving training if she doesn't look big in July!

We have cameras for the first time. Prayfully all will go well. We lost our first foal of the year on Feb 21st, and I was devastated. "Healthy foal. Live foal." My new mantra!

Well I am sleep deprived and watching Showman's Priemeir Princess, she is due TODAY! All signs point the way she has become the watch pot that never boils. Her colostrum is great , her bag is hard and her temp is dropping. She just needs to PUSH!

Soon I will be watch Gold Boy's Crescent Penney, Due mid April, but is with Getia until tomorrow.

And Barbie brings up the rear with May 23. She is already getting a small bag, so we are watching and taking her temp to make sure she is ok.

Well no new babies yet....

Good Friday always brings rain so maybe will see a new HEALTHY little one then.

Sending prayers your way for a HEALTHY foal....

I am now watching my first mare, with 7 more lined up to go in the next 2 to 3 weeks. We are expecting thunder storms on Friday and Saturday, so perhaps at least two will go during that time.
Sleepless nights are beginning for me.

I'm so glad to see that your back on the forum again..... I've missed your point of view on things.
My daughters husband could not find a job for 2 years, so he joined the army and was at boot camp all winter. My daughter has 3 young sons. So I have been over there helping out as much as I could.

They are now moving to Ft. Hood Texas and the movers are coming tomorrow. They will stay with me for a few days, then be driving down.

. Now there is no one in my family close buy. One is in Atlanta and is expecting her first baby,(I first typed foal. Ha, Ha, guess you know what my mind is on), the other is now moving to texas.

I guess in a few days, I will have lots of time on my hands.

I can actually say I'm not watching anyone right now!! Yay!!!! But we still have a maiden without a due date, just a guess that she is due in May or June.
default_sad.png
We bought her in foal, otherwise we'd know. She's a drama queen, so I'm not looking forward to her foaling.

I have our palomino pinto on marestare and she is getting close
default_unsure.png
. She is a maiden mare and sooo touchy feely right now. Pet me DON'T pet me. then gets all squirrely. She actually lays out flat and sleeps for a looong time like that and if she is in a deep sleep you will see her front legs moving like she is running
default_wacko.png
already got a call asking if she is normal
default_laugh.png
anywho then we have another that I bought suppose to be bred...big kinda like a 4x4
default_risa_suelos.gif
but no bag yet and Showgirl is due in May? and then there a three mares in different states that were bred to Fiesta (that horse do git around) so wait and see

OK, so now I have 4 horses in tonight that I am watching. The pressure is going down and we are expecting storms tomorrow, when the pressure goes down, mares like to foal. These 4 are getting pretty close. I guess I will not be getting much sleep for the next few days.

Of course, with my luck, non of them will go. But....we are going to have more storms on Tuesday.

I am carefully watching our "10 month" mare. I swear every year she tricks me. Her first foal was 305 days, second was 225, third was 300. Right now she is at 302.

Two more mares mid May, one mid June.

Good luck to everyone here who is mare-staring

Does MareStare watching count?

Thinking lots of "healthy foal!" thoughts for everyone on mare-watch though!

Thanks, I will let them know.

I am SOOOOOOOO tired today. Had 4 horses in last night as storms where coming in. I learned the hard way that their bags might not be quite ready, but storms can bring mares on.

3 where on the alarm system and I swear, every 5 minutes one of the 3 decided to lay down and set off the alarm. Unfortunately no foals yet. Storms are here now, so another night of no sleep tonight.

Yep, no foals here either.... I need to have a SERIOUS discussion with our girls. Ha!

I'm watching ASPC Rosie Flores. She's at 320 days today and progressing faster than I have ever seen her. At 6.4pH on the pool strips tonight with a crabby attitude. This mare never pins her ears or kicks at me, but she did this evening!

Just watching one and I also fall into sleep deprived descriptive. Got a nap this afternoon since my husband gets in early on Fridays. Thursday morning she seemed like she was showing signs of stage one labor. Last night she actually laid down and rested well a couple of times. Once she plopped down so hard I thought it was showtime. I have a camera on her and two monitors in the house. One by my bed and one that I move from room to room. I rushed out to the barn for one of many false alarms. Set me up a zero gravity lawn chair in another stall and slept for two hours. Ate chocolate ice cream at 2:30 a.m. It is now 1:30 a.m. and I am headed to the kitchen to cook nachos. Cleaned my bathroom. I mean cleaned. Baseboards, doors, cabinets. Lined drawers with pretty liner. Washed makeup containers. Threw out old makeup and medicines. Organized stuff into plastic rattan (aka faux) baskets. Now have a basket for hair products, a basket for hairbands, clips, ponytail holders, etc. A basket for anything foot or fingernail, basket for first aid supplies, basket for curlers and curling irons, basket for wash cloths. Removed towels and wash rags that don't match the new stuff. Washed the shower curtain liner. Hung a jewelry organizer on the inside of the linen closet door in there. Gonna try on clothes in order to send the too tight ones to the consignment shop. Yep, staring at a pg mare makes me gain weight. Don't think I could do more than one per year. Faith is 337 days plus. She is pacing and biting her side. If she is not having it after the nachos I swear I am going to cook brownies and then clean the laundry room! What is she waiting on? Me to have on my Easter dress?
