ME!!!!! I'm still printing out cards!!!!!

I had yet another bug that craweled into poor Maurice and my computer man was closed for two weeks because they had a baby so I had to wait for him to open his shop back up. He found no bug after all and when we got there, everything was working fine. We think it's the lack of telephone lines running up here and too many computers and the lines won't support all these computers.

Ok, then next, my Microsoft card program went corrupt.

Took a week and got that fixed.

Then, my printer ran out of ink and I had to wait days for ink for that.

Then my printer just tore up and bit the dust and had to be replaced. Too many card stocks slid down by accident and got jammed into the carriage somehow and busted the carriage. Man, tore the heck outta it too. Jerry tried to fix it but it was going to need parts to be ordered that would take a week to ten days.

So, Jerry went into storage and got me another printer that we used to have at our store.

Hooked that up, no software.

Finally found the software on the internet and amazingly got it loaded easily.

OH my....imagine that! I actually figured something out.

Then I couldn't find any ink for that one for another bunch of days, but we fianlly got the ink for that one last night.

I'm going to finish my cards now today but then guess what?

Our post office is closed on Thursdays & Saturdays here so it will be Friday before they get mailed.

Thank goodness most of the cards are already finished and mailed and I just have a few more to go.

Next problem is that I can't seem to finish my Chrisitmas shopping.

Jerry's van blew out a bearing and had to be towed her last week, so he's taken my truck to work every day, leaving me here stranded with no wheels. His parts should be in by Friday so until then, I can't go anywhere to shop. And then of course, it's probably going to snow which will leave me immobilzed, but let's just hope that doesn't happen until I'm done.

I thought for sure this year, starting all this after Halloween was going to be easy.

Boy was I ever wrong, wrong, wrong.

Merry Christmas to me anyway.

I'm not ready at all, but don't worry, I will be! I'd planned to get the rest of my shopping done Friday, but after I hit a PT Cruiser convertible in the La Senza parking lot Thursday night (yes, I know how stupid I am!), I was less keen on braving parking lots! I think I've got my courage up again now though, and a whole day off, so Walmart, here I come!

Well, you know my story. But I'm as ready as I can be, Mom comes Thursday nite and then we'll bake cookies and clean house and wrap presents (such as they are). It will be a wonderful holiday no matter.

This is ALL Bobs fault, I WILL NOT
wink.gif
take the blame for not being done with the christmas lights outside--I WONT I WONT I WONT..I have been telling him since September to put the lights on the trees, but did he--of course NOT, so its HIS fault--ohhhh---husbands!!!!! other then that I am all done

aughhhh Marty, things can only look up

you got everything fixed. Maybe we need to start decorating and getting ready for Christmas right after, ohhhh-say easter, that should give us enough time--ya think???? Corinne

I still have a few presents to buy but I'm planning on taking a couple of days off work next week to finish up. I have got most the presents wrapped and under the tree. The cards are mailed, house is decorated and a very excited 7 year old running around asking what he got for Christmas. If I can get the baking done and all the critters their presents (the dogs looked so cute on Sunday I gave them their candy cane rawhides) then I should be good shape.

I havent got baking done yet,.....or Xmas shopping,..My family allowance is in today,..but,..we have a storm,....ughhhhh,....

I keep saying,..I think I can,..I think I can,...LOL

Add me to the list of 'not ready'. Not even close. I had all these big plans to be ready. I need to just stop making plans; things go much more smoothly that way.

The tree is up. More or less. We are going to redecorate it today because the Golden Retriever thinks it is a toy display so everything needs to go higher. He's chewed up 5 ornaments so far. It is kinda cute to see him gazing at the tree with all the wonderment of a child in his eyes. It reminds me of the scene from 'A Christmas Story' where Ralphie is gazing at the toy display in the department store window. "I want that and that and that..."

Darrin and I took our Christmas pictures a couple of weekends ago, so that's done. They came out really cute.

The cards are ready to go. They'll be mailed off today.

My mom and I have had our first meeting to plan the meal. We were hoping Darrin would get an elk this year, so we could have a roast loin. No wild elk, so mom is going to ask around to see if there's farmed-elk available. Otherwise we're having lamb, which is just as good.

And that's as far as I've gotten. I've got nearly all my shopping yet to do. I was up all night with the mother of all toothaches (I'm hoping it's just a lost filling), so it's looking like my dentist will be the one who scores big this Christmas. That's OK though... I'll take dentist bills for me over vet bills for my animals any day.

Hmmm

the tree is decorated

The two presents for the kids are purchased

what else is there........nothing until christmas day when I cook

I think you all make this way harder than it needs to be

NOPE!! I AM NOT READY!! Shopping is done, but we haven't even gotten our tree yet and no presents are wrapped. Never, ever wanted an artificial tree, but having to wait for hubby to find time in his schedule

to go get a live tree is frustrating!! It doesn't help that he is a total Grinch about Christmas every single year!! He doesn't understand the importance of having the tree up well before Christmas. Maybe this weekend....

Susanne try the elk farm down the road from me.......ohhh I hadn't thought of lamb....hmmm...might not have it back in time......been waiting for 3 weeks to get them in.....

Yep, I've mentioned them to my mom, as well as the one up in Crouch. She's hoping to find a loin or some medallions at either Eagle City Market or the Co-Op.

I also told her we still have time to get a few pheasant or a goose, but she doesn't think dad will eat them (since he loves to feed them).

Not ready here. The stall decorations have been bought but have had no time to put them up.

I didn't do as much in the yard this year but did get 2 lighted trees up and the tree is in the house.

All the gifts but 2 are bought none are wraped. I'm off for the next week as long as I dont answer the wrong phone call so hope to finish wrapping and decorating tomorrow.

Then the fun stuff 18 horses and one llama need to be wormed 19 sets of feet trimed and 12 stalls striped and bedded.

Do you think a week is enough time?????

Merry Christmas everyone.

Jan

Not ready here yet either though some of the house is in reach. The den and dining room are almost done the kitchen is started and so is our bedroom presents are all bought and 80 % wrapped and most of the outside decorations are up. We have 5 cocker puppies who hopefully will be going to their new homes this weekend and that will help. Ive still got one homemade gift to do but theres time its not rocket science. As for making it too hard I know I do but its fun none the less.

I'm not done at ALL!!!!!!!

I still have to finish decorating. I still have gifts that I need to get and make. I've been so busy and My husband has been working long hours since he gets laid off this Friday for the winter.

I have to look for a job in the midst of all the Christmas hullaballoo(sp?).

I finally got a tree and put it up yesturday. It'a a fake one with light already attached to it. Thank god for that. It's the easiest tree I've ever put up. I have an Xmas party this Saturday in Conneticut. A birthday party for my god daughter on Sunday, my husbands work xmas party next Wednesday. I have to bake alot of cookies for that.

I'm beginning to hate Christmas, just because it fells like I don't have enough time.

Not even 'close" to done. We really had to wait until the home we sold closed before we could consider Christmas shopping and all the details that go with it. Now I've got a couple of weeks to do it all.

This is going to be a challenge.

I have begun, and the tree is up and a few decorations out though. I've never been shopping this late and I haven't even baked a cookie yet.

There is a big winter storm coming in tonight and tomorrow "they say" though and so I got to the store and made sure I would have some things to bake with if I got snowed in!!

Nope, not ready!

Wishing the crab season would have gone off a few weeks ago, or at the very least, day after tomorrow for some income!

BUT, we have plenty and will be fine, just need to get through all these crazy things happening right now (my Dad is still doing great, he's home recuperating), and have 2006 be a great year.

And I need to resolve to stop procrastinating! *LOL*
