No, it is NOT a goat, even though it looked like one yesterday!!!

She looks a bit better today- she was SO squashed!!

Her name is Shadowplay Out of the Blue- she is out of Blue (obviously!!) by the stallion I lost to tetanus in February- Cody, I have only had one lot of foals by him and now this is one of the last.
She is a Silver- I think- Black, I do not think dapple.
Last years colt that she aborted at day 267 was Silver Bay Roan, this filly may well be Roan as well, it's too early to tell.
She was born at 500 miles per hour, at 1.00pm (very civilised) The mare was not even through on the foaling paddock- I just noticed all the stallions going LOOPY and the mares had all disappeared onto the bottom field. Blue does not hang around, she just bangs it out any old way she can so the foal came out like a shot from a gun and was a bit confused to say the least!!

The mare had enough milk to feed a litter of foals so a bottle full is now in the freezer.
This foal was born at day 284 and is NOT preemie in the least!!
In the first pictures she is just dry - then the one of her standing on her head shows how tall she is- she is 21"- and if you remember last year I put up some photos of a palomino foal nursing between the mares legs?? This mare is the sister of the palominos mother

So being silly about nursing is hereditary.

Call name is Willow- don't ask me why, this foal named herself, mine usually do.
She gave me the registerd name, too, whcih was handy as I had none ready.
