Another take on the driving is that LaVern though the men have the "constipated smile" we ladies have to have the "jiggle factor". Thats why the women have to smile the way they do to hold those puppies in. Linda

LOL

Good Morning, Oh, I have the jiggles and the Muffin Top under control. Vet Wrap. It's this smile business that has me worried. Some of those ladies look like Julia Roberts. Maybe that Botoks stuff, would help.

Enough of my silliness. But, a little part of me really believes that girls and women are at a somewhat disadvantage when it comes to showing. It seems we have to present not only the horses but ourselves, more than the men do. Everything from how we dress to how we smile. (When I say "we", I mean other women, because I couldn't show a National Grand Champion Horse to a last place.)

I know that my horses looked AWESOME on it and like any other feed, the ones who needed more than others, well, needed more than others. Once Dana got them to a maintenance level, they are required FAR less than a mid range sweet feed or other comperable feed. The Purina Strategy didn't work for us. I had rough coats in all of the horses and joint problems in a few of my young horses. My vet wanted them taken off of it immediately

Face it, women have to do more in almost every way, no matter what.

Men can run a comb through their hair, throw on a suit, and look polished. Women, well, hair needs to be "done", makeup, and then our outfits are so much more complicated. And then we have to SMILE.

At least we don't have to shave our faces like the men do-- well, at least not til a certain age, I'm told.

Life just ain't fair, lol!

If Platform is basically for pasture horses, then I sure don't need it; my horses on pasture get so FAT they don't need anything but salt, minerals, and maybe a few vitamins.

You know my mini mares love the Dumor Mare & Foal feed. Tiny pellets and grain. They love it!

Lavern- keep the sense of humor! We all can use a little.

I find it funny that all my life except for prom, I hated dresses. Don't like to wear them. I never wear make up either, except on a rare occasion. Now into the horse world. I have gone bargain hunting for dresses to wear for driving this year and I think I am up to about 6. More than I have ever worn. Very excited and can't wait to wear them driving. I don't think the women should go over board, but look very pretty in their evening gowns. Also I do wear makeup to show my horse. We had a baby sitter last year at the shows and her dad came to watch. He watched what we all did to the horses with gel, make up, spray and everything and then watched me put make up on. I bet he thought we were nuts!!!

Lavern- Give yourself some credit. I think you would do just fine out there! Come join us, its fun!
