Isn't this the horse they pimped all over the talk shows and wouldn't admit him being a dwarf? I remember he was on Oprah and there was a lock of flack about it. And is he really the smallest? I seem to remember others being smaller in height. All dwarfs of course.

It's a cute video, except that many who now 'want one', will not understand the dwarf problems.

This was why I posted, I have dial up and couldn't watch, I wanted you guys to be my eyes. Is he a dwarf, or just a mini with bad conformation. From the pictures I've seen it looks as though his neck is really short and his head is big. What do you all think from this new vedio?

I'm going to try and not get caught up in this because we all know how I feel about it, so I'll be brief.

Is the video cute? Absolutely yes! And if the owners/breeder were willing to admit what he is and educate people and not mislead them, I would be so in their corner. I'd be their biggest cheerleader. But sadly, that has never happened. It sells more books, videos, tv appearances, etc., to hide the truth.

The good news is I guess, that he doesn't exhibit all the many issues a dwarf can, so hopefully he will live a relatively normal life, without pain. However, I believe his roach back alone is going to cause him pain in the future.

He's a cute little guy. His roach back is not improving, though. I'm on the fence if he's a dwarf or not (probably is) but he definitely is not stallion quality.

Andrea

Definitely not stallion quality, but not a dwarf (he has great legs on him and they are in proportion to the rest of him-his neck is awful though). Looks pretty good from the new pics i've seen of him on fb.

I agree he's a dwarf but I don't really think that's what this post is supposed to be about. It was about a horse "playing" soccer. Dwarf or not is irrelevant, it's a cute video.

My question is...where do you get a big ball like that? It looks like they really can't pop it too easily.

He's small, obviously.

He's cute, OK.

Why hasn't he been gelded?

I feel for those other animals that have been forced into the pen with him and have obviously learned to be wary of him- he needs other horses to keep him company not a goat a dog and an over sized ball- if they gelded him they could get a "normal" sized Mini and that would accentuate his smallness.

My guess is that they will get a tiny tiny mare to breed him with and......well, good luck with that is all I can say as we all know how it will end!!

and in my opinion it is too darn bad we can't all enjoy a cute video without getting all bent over it! He is obviously well cared for, very cute and more then a little spoiled...and fun to watch! Made me smile!

Agree!!! This horse is being basically pimped out as an example of a miniature stalilion and as someone who owns and admires good examples of our breed, I don't appreciate it. Horses like Einstein are why many of us get the"compliment" that our minis look like real horses... which is what they are and should resemble. It is hard to be an advocate for our breed and appreciate the way in which a dwarfy, horrible example of a miniature STALLION is promoted to the public.

Besides, he is NOT the smallest horse anymore, Thumbalina is.

But.. these people obviously have media clout and they are promoting him as much as they can and making money off the poor little guy.. I have seen him posted on facebook many times with pictures and videos. Everyone gushing over him. No, the video is NOT cute, it is another way to hype the media. For every hit they get on facebook, they get some money, when the hits get to a certain level, it is big money.

His owners are just in it for the fame and money. Remember, they are not the breeders, they are people who saw the colt and saw money signs in their eyes.

I too am not happy (to say the lease) that the world is gushing over this poor excuse for a Mini. No wonder the general public as well as big horse people have this kind of image in their eye of what a Mini looks like, and why so many big horse people do not take us seriously. I have had many big horse people tell me my horses look just like big horses and they acted very surprised that a Mini could look that way.

Oh good grief.

I agree Stormy!

Have you ever seen the video of him on Good Mornings America? He's TOO spoiled and is treated like a dog.

I have three dwarves and would NEVER treat them as much as they do him or treat him like a dog.

That is just my humble opinion and we are ALL entitled to our own.

EDIT: And yes I would want somebody to tell me that I treated my animals like dogs for those of you wondering about respect.

many tack supply catalogs carry them. I think Horse.com might. I know one brand is from Stacy Westphal (sp?).

Here are some pictures of Einstein from his website and facebook. Hopefully it's alright that I'm posting them since they have been made public already. If not, admins please remove them and I apologize.

Very well cared for and obviously loved. I have seen way too many starving and neglected horses lately to worry about one little guy who is fed well and obviously given a lot of attention. IMO he should not be a stallion, BUT that is not my choice and I'm not going to to keep coming back to Einstein's threads and whine about it. I have my own horses to mind.

And again, pretty sure he is not a dwarf-he just has that awful neck.

Those pictures are photoshopped. He's roach backed and has had surgery on his hips/hind legs.

OBVIOUS photoshopping on his back/topline to remove his roached back.

Call me rude but I don't like these people.

They're trying to hide his deformities.

They're in it for the money.

They're calling him a stallion and HAVE since he was a few days old. He's a darned colt and should be a gelding!

They treat him like a dog and a spoiled brat.

I have also lost ALL of my respect for Oprah. I thought that woman was smarter than that.

My apologies to those that think I'm being rude, but I get testy when it comes to Einstein. If he isn't gelded then he's going to be the new Bond's Tiny Tim!
