I have a mare that is keeping me guessing on her color. She is black for a short period of time in the Fall, then from dec on she turns different hues of red to blond on the ends with or without a lot of sun, her lower legs always stat the same black color without fading. I clipped her yesterday, and she was a smokey black color, I think this is very pretty. Could some of you post a few shots of your smokey black horses in the different seasons, with fluff , and without? I would love to compare the coat color , and admire them too

I don't have any smokey black horses but do have a smokey silver black horse (National Champion / Reserve National Grand Champion / Halter Hall of Fame stallion, Erica's Echos of My Destiny HOF).

However, one thing to know about smokey black horses is they can look pitch black, black as the night... and still carry cream. You can't tell by looking.
