We had the vet over today because this morning I took Ferrah a carrot (in a plastic bag!) and she didn't even flinch about the plastic. She didn't even really want her carrot either. The vet came out and drew some blood form her and took all her vitals. She couldn't find anything wrong with Ferrah at all. She is going to get the bloodwork done as soon as possible.

Ferrah is so lethargic. Usually she likes to walk around but she has been staying in one spot. I stayed with her all day today and I only just came home because my mom said I have to eat before I pass out. I brought a huge stack of horse magazines and read all the health articles. I read most of the articles out loud. When I left she did perk up a little. She kept looking over her stall door and making nickering sounds. Poor old girl.

The vet said that by how lethergic she is, she thinks that Ferrah is sick, and this is a vet who knows Ferrah well.

I hope nothing happens to her. She is my best friend.

You did the right thing to have the vet out, hopefully you can quickly get to the bottom of what is bothering her.

I"m glad you got the vet out for the blood work. I know she is sick from what you have said previously. I think she is in pain somewhere from what you are describing, standing in one spot, not eating. Sounds like she is afraid to move because if she does, she will hurt. Just like you or me say if we twist our ankle, we know that if we move, it's going to hurt. Maybe it's something like artheritis that is bothering her.

Let's hope that the tests come back with something easy that can be dealt with from medication. There are so many meds now on the market that make a vet's job a lot easier. Meanwhile young lady, you have got to eat and get your rest. Chances are that you are going to need your strength to help Ferrah get better so she needs you to be at your best! She would not want you to feel bad. Horses know who loves them and they can sense when YOU are not well too. So you go scoot and eat like your mother said to and things are going to be looking a whole lot better for you both soon. I'll say a little prayer for Ferrah.

Hope Ferrah's results come back okay and it's nothing serious.

Awww, I'm sorry she hasn't improved, yet, but I will hope at least that the tests show something that can easily be remedied.

I will continue to keep her and you in my thoughts. Take care of yourself, she needs you strong.

You both have my prayers, perhaps a thought.....can you have our Bonnie talk with her? Many is the time a vet is just baffled and Bonnie can see just what the horse says.

Hoping vet finds "something" to work with.....some things don't show up strong enough for a couple of days to show in the blood even. Hard to "wait", I know! Glad you noticed she was not herself and had her checked. Give her a hug from all of us and tell her we want her well.
