She is listed on the all breed pedigree site but with no bloodlines. Possibly hardshipped into the registry?

Miniature Horses: Making a Good Impression

Speaking of dogs and training.... there were a couple of people here in the state that had bred some toy breed of dogs for years... poodles if I remember right. They decided to get into Minis. They treated the Minis like their did their pampered little pets, and expected the same reactions...

    Cost of shipping?

It really varies from one shipper to another, however I have seen some real horror stories on the internet lately about bad shippers that are not reliable and one person had their horse 'disappear'. My recommendation is to get some quotes from various RELIABLE shippers, and dont just go with...

AMHR Nationals Hurting Hunter & Jumper Exhibitors

minimor- my thoughts exactly! Someone is always going to get 'stuck' on the last day of the show... there is no way to avoid that.

Possibly pregnant mare wont eat grain

I would have her teeth checked again by someone you trust. Also, would run a course of psyllium and check for sand issues. That she doesnt want to eat and picks in her food though seems to me like a mouth/tooth problem.

    Fallen Crests -- Hereditary?

I had a horse I bought as a weanling. He ate the same as everyone else always has at my place. He was never grossly overweight and we dont have selenium deficiencies here... When he turned about 5 if I remember, his crest started to fall some. He didnt have a huge fat neck- not a pencil...

Anything goes -If you cannot take the heat Do Not Read.

Marty, to do all that regardling the policing of who is breeding animals and what is allowed... isn't that just another step towards dictatorship and an utter police state? We are already heading that way and so many of the 'sheeple' just dont want to wake up and see it. I dont want the govt...

Late Payments - what would you do?

It just concerns me, since you have to send reminders to an irresponsible person who can't even make their own payments on time, what kind of home is the horse going to? Do they really care? I have purchased horses in the past on payments at times, and was always on time or way early with...

Yes I do know someone... contact the guys at Piece of Me Miniature Appaloosas - they are located in CA. They have a friend close by that makes the tailbags and they are quite reasonable too. All different colors.

    Shaving the mini for showing

There is a video that was made by Brooke, the clipper girl. She did my horse at Nationals one year and she is fantastic. You might look for that video- it would be very helpful and educational. I use at least 4 different blades when clipping... you would need to know what to use where.

Swollen nose? And now a dog attack...

I agree, get that horse in to be seen somewhere. You need to really know what the real damage is in there. It may just hurt for him to eat much. I had a friends mini years ago got it's jaw broken by a big horse (through a fence even) and they were VERY worried about infection in the bone. If...

    Foaling...Standing Up?

My stalls are 12 x 12 also, and if I could have made one a bit bigger, I would have. 6 x 8 is tiny and doesnt really give much room for a horse laying flat out and trying to push something out- she could lay with her rear against the side that may impair what she is trying to do. Not really...

    Placenta Eating

Ok so yes, I did have a mare start doing this right in front of me. After getting past the shock, gagging and trying to refrain from throwing up, LOL, I did remove what was left of it. She's the only one I've ever had do that, but once in a while, I guess they do.

    VERY HUNGRY HORSES

That is an awesome ending to the story and the beginning of their new life!!

What Is The Future For The Miniature Horse?

I show because it's fun for me, win or not. I love hanging out with the wonderful folks who also have this passion for horses and doing fun stuff with our wonderful equines. Is the stress of foaling worth it? Yes- it's part of breeding any kind of animal/bird/whatever. For the MOST part...

    Appaloosa Breeders and CSNB

I have 4 fewspots right now- the stallion stays out with the mares and does not have any problem getting around at night. I have one mare that I can tell is a little more night blind than the others but they all do fine.
