    Questions On Grullas

Well I wouldn't put much faith into what the studbook thinks the colors are. So don't assume anything is true unless you have pictures of each horse. Buckskins are Black + Agouti + Cream, so test for anything that isn't already obvious. If you can't tell what color she is, test for all three.

Has anyone used Rice Hulls as bedding?

I used to board at a place that the stall next to us used rice hulls. The stall/walk out was shared by two minis. And with two minis' peeing in there and the stuff not being absorbent at all, it got gross looking pretty quickly. It was easy to clean, and I think I remember it being cheaper than...

NEW (long overdue) driving pics of GHOST

Thank you for the compliments, everyone. I just love these little ones so much! I will definitely try that with the breeching next time we harness, lowering it and running the traces through that loop. I had a feeling that I might need a pad for that saddle. WHOOO another thing I get to...

    Oops! Now I've Done It!

I think I got ya beat on this one.... when my Charm was 3 months old I thought it was cute when he'd lay down in my lap. He knows it's adorable. He is 3 years old now and STILL does it any chance he can. He has used this tactic now to get away with SO much. If he doesn't want to do something...

    The Haunting.

ROFL! The Exorcist was AWFUL! I laughed (AT it, not with it) just about the entire time. It was probably scary when it came out, but when you watch it after seeing The Grudge and The Grudge 2 consecutively in one night (and laughing at those too), the whole pea soup ordeal is quite comedic...

    What color??

Miniature papers aren't worth squat as far as colors go. A very large amount of them have the wrong color listed. I have what I think is a silver bay pintaloosa, he's registered as a palomino pinto. Just ignore it.

    What color??

Dun most of the time makes the body lighter, and always has dorsal stripes. I see her roaning that I would call Sabino, and if she has a blaze that's probably Sabino too.

    Kind of a silly question.......

The expression of frame (how much white the horse has) is not related to how much blue eyes it will produce. Because frame is only ever heterozygous, range of color patterns within it are purely genetic variation. Really loud expressioned horses are often sabino as well, which may increase its...

NEW (long overdue) driving pics of GHOST

Hiiiiii everybody!! Life has been quite busy lately! Much apologies for those wanting to see new Charm pictures - he's grown up into quite the nice young man! He is SO sweet, so playful, everybody loves him. As for Ghost and her driving... we had taken some time off to sort out some bridling...

    is it possible...?

Colors have no correlation to patterns. They are two separate things. So ANY pattern, or combination of patterns, can be expressed on ANY color. Just like any pinto can be present on any color, so can appy.

    Rare Skewbald Miniature horse????

I read the title of this post and laughed so hard I spewed coffee all over my desk. Not many people even use the terms "piebald" and "skewbald" any more. Only people I know who do are a couple real old cowboys who ride at my boarding barn. My god, this person obviously knows absolutely...

    Filly vs. Colt

When I first got into miniatures, I was amazed at how many people who own them actually breed. I mean, big horses you actually don't find nearly as many. You leave the breeding to the breeders. I assume it's because big horses cost more, but actually I honestly think it's because people know...

    Any Plans

Alright here's my plans. I had originally planned to do these breedings last year but several colics with a couple other horses got in the way of things. Anyway....... My boy, CCMF Frankie Blue Eyes, aka "Freedom" - 33" tobiano/splash/frame/sabino pintaloosa. Son of LTD's Color Broker (full...
