What classes should I enter? PHOTOS

Carolyn... The walk doesn't usually come in to play during liberty. However, the trot is the most attractive gait so if the majority of the run is at the trot, the horse typically places better.

    Advice on 'untraining' a baby

For your own sanity... Remember in the times he's "being a jerk" that it's not his fault. He is just trying to do what he was told is the correct relationship culture. Horses are smart and with consistency can learn a new language.

Seen any good(or bad) movies lately?:)

Saw The Lego Movie. A little one-dimensional but pretty enjoyable... Something for everyone.

Mini stud losing his baby teeth and having big problems chewing

Caps can quickly cause problems. I've not had a baby with eating issues for more than a day or two, so I'd have another vet look at him.

    Tummy Tighting

As with people or any animal... Diet and exercise. All-around health and fitness will affect the whole body, from neck to tummy. The "tummy" is affected by both the topline and underline. If you can see ribs at all while your horse is standing, they need more calories. If you can see spine...

    questions about feed

Some love it and some hate it. I think part of the problem with feeds is people fail to look at the diet as a whole... So that should be taken into consideration. What in your horses' current diet is lacking or being replaced?

    tattooing

With cats and dogs too... In the event of being hit by a car (sometimes obliterated) our city shelters can scan the bodies for a chip and notify you of what happened to your pet whereas a tattoo might not be feasible...

    Question on registering

I'd pass on the colt and keep looking, unless you're okay with an unregistered small pony.

    tattooing

Most of the horses I know are microchipped. All of my cats and dogs have always been chipped. I do know of one stallion whose chip migrated down his neck. Our vet does a local anesthesia on the horses, and my cats/dogs are always done while being spayed or neutered, as I do believe there is...

    tattooing

Marsha... Plenty of humans and animals have foreign bodies implanted in them... Hormonal birth control rods, dental implants, hip replacements and screws in jaws.... I can't see a little grain of rice sized microchip causing damage to animals which live shorter lives than humans....

I think microchipping is the modern way to "brand" horses. The Andalusian registries require a microchip... Many large herds of andalusians are all solid greys! So they walk out with the microchip reader to correctly ID a horse.

Can you register the sire first? If not, then no .

    Roached manes and neck collars

I have seen ingrown hairs with a full collar and roached mane. You can shave all and leave some at the wither and trim it very short, just in case. But this was in a draft horse that worked a fair amount, so if you are just pleasure driving every now and then it may not matter.

Single Mini... Okay with the other horses nearby or does he need a buddy?

I've heard a month for every year they've been a stallion, ballpark. This is a great time of year to geld, before spring hormones are super rampant!

When Training for Halter Class what all should I be Training my horse to do?

Basic leading and ground manners... The horse should be able to walk and trot next to you and also halt. Some judges ask to check the bite, so horse should be reasonable about handling the muzzle. Squaring up is important. After that, getting expression/hooking neck/using the body while set...

Half siblings can certainly be by the same stallion. Half the genes is half the genes, regardless of the parent!
