I love the one of the barn! So isn't this nicer than the pouring rain and wind. At least it seems like winter and christmas and not so depressing. Just harder to drive around. :bgrin :bgrin I bet there will be a snowman picture soon as the snow is to come back today and tonight. Have fun.

Well my three year old from this year did drive in a non rated class at local show. Did really well for the first time as we have not accomplished the extended trot well yet. I was thrilled to get a decent picture as I never get to see how they are driving. Black Ties Patches of Glory: My...

Taking the plunge and looking for property

I live in Tacoma and have commuted to Seattle for quite a few years. If you are working in the downtown area, many people I worked with lived over in Bremerton, Pt Orchard area and took the ferry. Is actually just as close as the south end where we are at. I took either bus or Train and had at...

Update on my topic about HOF for Obstacle Driving

I did not realize it wasnt' included. Checked my mares results from 2005 and sure enough, no HOF for even 1st place. It has become a very important driving class for me and I'm with you for making it a HOF class. Hopefully someone knows how we can get this on a vote to the members?

This is Black Ties Custom Color. 2 years old this year. I showed him as a weanling and yearling but let him rest this year to work on some of my other horses. Starting him in cart this winter hopefully and obstacle. His brother is Black Ties Patches of Glory, 3 years old this year. It was his...

Anyone else starting driving horses this fall...

Glad I won't be alone this winter out there with the long lines! I started the gelding who is three on the left last year and has been in cart 10 or so times. He did drive in one of the country pleasure non rated classes this year. Just needs more miles. The gelding on the right is two and...

    Considering driving and exhibitions

I agree that the country pleasure classes have changed a lot, very competitive. I would try him in a few next year as I like his motion. I would like to see country go back to being judged on a well mannered, smooth moving horse with a good headset and confirmation. I have a gelding that was...

    dog experts out there

I had this happen once with an Irish Setter. She actually bit he babies as they were born. off to the vet and rest were born there. She had milk fever and did not realize what she was doing. It is extremely hard to go thru but after antibiotics and us bottle feeding for a few days all was well...

    Just Topkick-24 years old

Thanks everyone. I hope you always remember to take care of the old ones. Winter is hard on them and they need the extra TLC especially then. Topper is happy and content although the still crosses over in the back legs when walking he seems to not be in pain these days.

Just Topkick -1982 horse is 30 1/4 inches tall and some in the northwest have him in their horses backgrounds. He has severe arthritis in the back hips but is doing so much better this year. I got him with my gelding a year ago. He is our babysitter for weanlings. He is so good with the little...

    Come join us

Received the entry forms for the SHirley Odegaard mini fun show. Wanted to share. Leia: maybe Kody will be well by then and hope to see you! Gives us a chance to take some of the horses we did not take to other shows this year and give them some experience. We always have a crowd for the early...

    anyone else doing this ?

I have a 3 yr old gelding, 2 yr old gelding, 6 yr old mare and yearling mare together on a dry lot. Feed time is the only argument and I separate for grain feeding and just make more piles of hay for the other feeding. They have a pecking order with oldest gelding but stay together as a herd...
