I am happy to hear the measuring saw a great improvement... Did anyone protest the horse that people thought was to big?? Now if the AMHA were to send out a memo to all clubs that the measuring must be done correctly or large finds will be imposed maybe this issue will come to a close...

I guess we will see if an effort to correct the measuring problem is addressed at the nationals.. If cheating is still allowed other answers to the problem must be found.. My point being if we can not fix the problem by having honest measuring done, then allowing them that insist on trying to...

Exactly... and if the over sized were not allow to show against the 34'" and under, the little guys would stand a better chance and I feel we would see more and better smaller horses.

This is a quote from R3 and the reason I posted this thread.. She makes some very valid points.. There are benefits to allowing 'oversize' horses to be kept in the gene pool. Maybe not with 'regular' AMHA papers, but at least with some documentation and the ability to have 'regular' AMHA...

I do not show.. but in Alberta AMHR shows are almost non existent if at all .. by allowing a B division within the AMHA more people would have a chance to show..

From what I have been reading here these over sized horses are being used now to produce AMHA horses.. It it were legal maybe the right size would show up on their registration papers and stud book allowing the rest of us the choice to breed with more knowledge.. and know exactly how tall they...

This is just my personal opinion... I think that forming an over sized division within the AMHA would be good for the AMHA if this division was completely separate from American Miniature Horses.. as far as show is concerned. Why??? 1. Not loosing the bloodlines of some exceptional horses...
