We didn't get any foals from him because his motility was shot by the time he came to us 5 years ago but we do have a grandson of his that we have retained.

It's been a sad day here. Our senior stallion, Jet (T Oaks JP) passed away late last night/early this morning. He left a large legacy behind as he stood at Lucky Star Acres for a long time. He is going to be sorely missed. He was a very nice, gentle stallion.

The goats should be just fine together. We have pygmies, fainters and crosses that are much bigger together (including a suffolk sheep whether!) and they all get along fine. Just fix the boys and all should be well!

We use ceiling fans instead of box fans. It's so much easier and depending on the design of the barn it helps get the hot air out. We also use large industrial floor fans at either end of the barn since our barn is split (half is the stalls, half is the indoor arena).

We have lists started for just about every year since we change letters every year so we know for sure how old they are... 2011 is the E year, 2012 is the F year.

I think the gelding looks great Ash. And as for the mare, see if you can keep upping her feed a bit to get her that little something extra without getting to the point of founder. I think you're doing a great job with both of them.

We've had that happen a couple (maybe 3 times). We started to feed oyster shells. You can get them at the local feed store... We haven't had a shell-less egg since.

I just wanted to add that we have Verizon. We have great coverage and love the service we get from them.

We don't have a landline anymore. We have a google number that goes to our cells so that we can give that out to people if we don't want them having our cell numbers.

Check the state's laws about leaving kids alone. Around here I think it's 12 before they can be left home alone. If you HAVE to leave them home alone due to finances then see if a neighbor person would be willing to keep an ear out for them or even check on them once in a while during those 2...
