He was fine until yesterday I noticed that he yelped every once in a while changing position. Sat he and his sister were corgi wrestling as usual . Sunday morning he cried out a couple of times but when I checked him over cant fine a spot that is tender.... he walks ok, eats, urinates, deficates, everything normal just occassionally when he changes position one little yip. I have a vet appointment this afternoon. His family that bought him is coming home from disney world wed.... I hope I can find out what it is and fix it so he can go home with them. I hate it when a baby hurts and I cant just figure out how to fix it. Pray for a definative answer that is fixable!

I'm not sure what it could be, Lyn. I worry on corgis just like on my Shih-Tzu's. They have those long backs and it worries me sometimes. I hope the vet can give you an all clear this afternoon. Keep us posted!!! I know how excited the family must be about him. I could barely contain myself when we were waiting to get Maggie and then Kelsey.

Lyn, I sure hope you can find out what is wrong with him. His new family will probably be sad if they can't take him home with them. I sure hate it when that happens, sending good thoughts that all will be well.

I wish they could talk to us and tell us where they hurt. Sometimes Lakota will come over sit down in front of me and just look at me trying to communicate...usually I figure out what she wants, but when it comes to boo-boos and things like that it's not that easy. You think maybe a pinched nerve somewhere from wrestling may have gotten him? I hope the vet can pin point it and make the little guy comfty.

All I hope is for something fixable..... These kids will be devistated if he cant go home. They have been dogless since theirs got hit in front of them 4 years ago...... new house fenced yard and now a puppy that may not be able to come home.

I'll add my prayers that he's just got an owie from playing too hard and that he can go home to his new owners! Good luck Lyn!

LYN,

I AM SENDING YOU A P.M.

I THINK I CAN HELP

BONNIE

Sounds to me like he just pulled something that only hurts him when he moves a certain way. I wouldn't worry about it.

Looks like you are in good hands as Bonnie seems to have an idea. (((((Bonnie)))))

Best of luck with the little guy!

I hope thew puppy will be o.k.

When my sheltie had the broken hip we only knew it because she walked funny. I kept running my hand up and down her leg and bending it to see if anything hurt and she didn't act like she was in any pain at all. I was really surprised when the x-ray showed it was broken.

I hope he will be ok I dont have lots of pup experience but find usually it is for lack of the correct term a muscle in the armpit area they seem to pull not sure why maybe all the bouncing around they do they stretch it ?

Couldnt get a ride till this afternoon. We are going to go at 530. He is sleeping now. Read the post above about Bonnie. I explained more there.

Lyn,

How did it go at the vet and is he going to get to go home with his new family? I read what Bonnie had to say about him and the other little kids. I hope he's okay and that you won't keep blaming yourself.

This will probably seem small since it was "just" a hamster but one time about 20 years ago, I was holding this baby hamster and it just like shot out of my hands and landed on the floor and broke his leg. It still makes me feel really sad when I think about him.

He is 100% his old self today. The vet couldnt find a thing wrong with him ....this was after Bonnie worked with him. Barry and I descrbed to Dr Phill how he was acting lethargic and crying out when moving....etc. He had a complete musculoskeletal exam as well as a neurological exam to try to detect focal seizures and found nothing! HE never yelped once! Thanks to Bonnie he will go home with his family as scheduled. You can read more about it on Bcodys thread about Bonnie.
