My daughter called tonight with the great news that Abigail Grace is finally coming home tomorrow barring any unforeseen episodes. She has not had any apnea since last tghursday and passed the "car seat test" They have to be able to sit up right in a car seat for an hour with no problems with heart rate or breathing She will be 3 weeks old on Weds. but still 4 weeks away from her actual due date!
The nurses praised my daughter, Wendy for her determination to nurse her successfully and I am very proud of her. It may sound silly but I believe that people who are raised in a family where farming, animals and nature are important have an easier time with the "natural" processes such as nursing, birthing and maternal bonding ( I wonder if they call it imprinting !)
I cannot wait to see her in her own little cradle but will hold off until this family of three has some time to just be together privately with no one else buzzing around or making the schedule! I sure hope everyone gives them time to settle in also

This little girl is just the one who will handle my next foal- a breeding between "Uno" and my classic filly"Shady" She has sure proven that she has the wear -with -all to keep up with just about anyone!
