Do you know who your AMHA Regional Directors are? If you answer yes post your Region and the Directors names here.

This isn't an open book question so no fair cheating and looking them up. You can do that after you answer the poll to see if you were correct.

I can tell you who mine are in Region 09; Mike Want (current AMHA President), Bob Kane (current AMHA Vice President and past President) and Barbara Naviaux.

Do you communicate with your Directors to discuss the AMHA and issues that are important to you? I can tell you that I have/do communicate with mine although I haven't talked to Barbara. Her health has not been good lately although she continues to carry out her AMHA duties.

To carry this a step further, although it is not a part of the poll question, do you know what AMHA members are a part of what AMHA Committees? If so, when you have a question/concern do you find a committee that can help you and then discuss these issues with the committee members?

Sitting behind your keyboards to continually complain and not do anything about it just doesn't cut it with me.

Be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem.

Yes, my current Region 12 Director is Jack Accountius. We just had an election, though, so that might have changed.

The AMHA committees are on the AMHA website, although, there were some changes made at the June 2006 Board meeting that I don't see on there.

It's not hard to contact your directors, committee chairs, members or office personnel. I've been contacting a lot of these people lately!

: Most of this info is on the AMHA website and also in the Miniature Horse World.

I do know my area director for AMHR and discuss issues with her very often.

Laurie Villalpando is the AMHR director for us

l'm in region 10 westeren Canada which l believe has been vacent since Eric Myers from World of Miniatures moved to the U.S. something like over 12 years ago if l remember right. But l think we can take our concerns to l forget which region...anyone know??

I know - here in Region 4, our regional directors are Debbie Mooney, Sid Hutchcraft & Mark Kern. I see them all regularly at our shows here in Florida. Wouldn't hesitate to go to any one of them with a question or problem.

Jody Hoch is my amha director and i have to say she is the only one i have ever had that replies to emails and questions. thank you jody for doing such a great job!

Ours in the Texas region (6) are Felix Covington, Mark Wilson, and Bob Jenkins. Bob is the chairman of the Marketing Committee and Mark is on several committees - AOTE and Computer/Internet.

We do not have a region but my Representative is Jill Robinson, in Stockton-on-Tees.

Easy to reach by e-mail.

I live in Region 13 and our regional director is Larry Elniff. He is very dedicated to making the AMHA a better registery. He is easy to contact and welcomes all input.

I might also add that he and his wife Sue, work endlessly in our Heartland club as well. Peg Balthazor

Region 12...Jack Accountius

I contact him when needed and have always gotten a response if I needed one. He keeps members up on goings on by email.

If I need to contact a particular committee I check the AMHA web site for contact info and yes I do give them a piece of my mind (not that it's worth much!) occasionally.

I don't know off hand who my AMHA director is but I do know where I can find the name if I wanted to contact them. I just haven't had anything to complain about with AMHA up to this time. I am a member so I do know I have the right to complain and I think complaints of people are being heard right from this forum and others. I am also a member of AMHR and know they haven't always listened to their members. I think AMHA is trying to be a member friendly registry and is doing a much better job of listening then the other registry....that's just the way it is for me and I am sure their are others who think differently. The same as yours Neil - Region 09; Mike Want (current AMHA President), Bob Kane (current AMHA Vice President and past President) and Barbara Naviaux.

Do you communicate with your Directors to discuss the AMHA and issues that are important to you? I did contact them during the last fiasco before Mike became president. I haven't spoken to Barbara in eons though.

To carry this a step further, although it is not a part of the poll question, do you know what AMHA members are a part of what AMHA Committees? Not every committee, but I do know how to find out if need be.

If so, when you have a question/concern do you find a committee that can help you and then discuss these issues with the committee members? If there was some concern I have, definitely.

Sitting behind your keyboards to continually complain and not do anything about it just doesn't cut it with me. Be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem. You are correct about that, but it's human nature to complain more than be proactive!

I will say as a whole other than the overall fiasco's that AMHA has had in leadership I like AMHA. The office staff has always been extremely helpful and answered questions, dealt with problems, etc., quickly and with no problem.

At various times I have contacted my Region 1 Directors (Tom O'Connell & Laurie Slobody) and also the Performance Committee (Gary Barnes) and the AOTE Committee (Lorraine O'Connell). They have all been receptive to my comments.

I think I am in Region 1 (New England) but I know our Lorrie Slobody is our Director currently! She is great with my questions and is the fastest phone answerer in the East! (5 seconds, and before the second ring!) Sadly she is stepping down but I KNOW who is running for the seat for next year too!

We are region 2. Besides Jody right now the directors are also Don Fox from western PA and Erin Haddad from Michigan. We are in the middle of an election also. Don and Erin were not eligible for re-election this time. I and Kathy Porter from PA are running for director. I hope all of region two has gotten the ballots, voted and returned them by now. If you didn't get a ballot and you live in Michigan, Ohio or PA, your membership has probably expired

Region 10 - As Relic stated, we do not have a director, nor have we had one for many, many years. When we have had questions, we have emailed directors from other areas to find out the information we needed. Have also emailed a past president to state our concerns, and received a prompt reply, explaining the answer to our query. When we were able to attend, we have also taken concerns directly to the annual meeting and given them to the appropriate committees.
