Black Homozygous for Tobiano Colt!

In the fall of 2009 we bought Mona's mare "Deelite" and brought her down from Canada. Here she is with her first foal for us. He was sure worth the wait !!!!!!

We have been having nothing but rain here, so these were taken in a pause in the rain when he was a few hours old and still getting his land legs. His sire is Canterbury All That Jazz.

And the cool thing about Deelite foaling, was I got to see her foal being born while watching her on Joanne's barn cam!!

Jenny, yes, the colt is definitely homozygous for tobiano, as both Mom and Dad are, making it a "must" for the baby.

I felt so honored that Mona was watching out for Deelite from Canada and called me to say she was in labor. I was struggling to put on my raincoat and run out the door when she called.

Glad that she foaled at such a great time for you Mona (it was 4 am here). She was such an awesome mom the moment she saw him. He is a ball of energy! The few times we have had him out between rainstorms he tears around the place. Quite the handful for Deelite!

Congratulations on another fabulous foal and mom is a rare find she definitely played a big part in the creation of that spectacular little guy, he is the kind of BOY you don't mind getting.

I think Joanne does a marvelous job of matching her mares and stallions to get those good foals. My hat is off to her too.

Joanne, thanks for the heads up on new baby, we have been so overwhelmed with the terrible tornado and heat that I haven't had time to even pop in to forum to see all the new babies this year.
