Canadians Please or USA if you know

I have an order coming from Canada. (The whole 15 years of the Red Green Show). It did not come when they said it would. It also said add 3-4 days for international orders. My son and I are having a disagreement here. He says maybe we are international and I say we aren't that international is over seas. So my question is. Does Cananda consider the United States International? Not real important but I would appreciate an answer. Thanks.

It generally takes much longer receiving anything from Canada.

I live just outside of Seattle and to receive something...like, from Vancouver, it can take a week to 10 days

Technically, yes, Canada/US is international. (Afterall, there is the International Peace Gardens, located between Manitoba & North Dakota, right on the Canada/US border...)

Having anything shipped between Canada and the US (regardless of which direction it is going) involves Customs, and Customs adds days to delivery times of packages.

I've shipped items into the US and I don't think they've ever gotten to their destination in less than a week. If I mail a video tape to a US destination they tell me it will take 6 days to nearby states (North Daiota) and up to 12 days to more distant states (Utah for instance). I think one video got to Fargo in about 5 days and one to Utah actually got there in about a week. Packages sent to Montana and Wisconsin took a full week in the mail.

Packages coming into Canada usually take 2 weeks, and that's if Canada Customs doesn't open the package. Once in awhile stuff will get here 7-10 days after mailing. If Canada Customs chooses to open the package, it can take 6 weeks from time of mailing to time of delivery. Thankfully, most times the package doesn't get opened!

Don't forget to throw in at least an extra day for the Labor Day holiday. Many pre-figured shipping times, don't account for holidays.

I have a tracking number but can't get any results. It keeps telling me they can't find it. But it did say that tracking #'s don't work for International. Then I feel they should not have given me a # if it IS International. Oh I love a good mystery. I'll be patient I promise until Tuesday. :no: :bgrin

Yes, U.S. would be considered international.

When shipments say 10-12 days, that's generally 10-12 BUSINESS days - so 14-16 regular days.

You can try to go to www.canadapost.ca and put your tracking number in there. It should tell you at least when it left Canada. Canada/US shipping is always so slow but customs can hold stuff up for a long time sometimes!

Tried this. No luck. Believe it or not I still haven't received this order. Maybe my turtle lost another leg on the way. Must be patient, must be patient, must be patient.

But our mail service here is quite the same way. I just am worried because I used a credit card for the first time to order something over the internet and I'm a little untrusting. What I ordered was way more money than I can really afford but I did it anyway for my boys a Christmas present. Go figure. I will just have to wait.

You orderd it on the 12th or they sent it out on that date?? l give all parcels at least 6 weeks. l know when l ordered my harness for my daughter it took more then a month to get up here stopped at customs for a rest..and my clippers from Rob took almost 2 months to get to me because it was laying around down at customs all that time before getting mobile again..

I can certainly understand the untrusting part Bonnie, it is an uncomfortable feeling when you have paid a lot for something and it is slow to arrive. I have made purchases through ebay, most of which came from the US, and some arrived relatively quickly (2 -3 weeks) while others took over a month. I don't know about going south over the border, but coming north Customs can definitely hold it up. Sometimes they open the package, sometimes they don't. Maybe the customs officers are watching all the episodes! :bgrin Just kidding....

Have you tried contacting the seller to ask whether they can find out where it is? If they have a tracking number I would have thought they would be able to follow it to it's destination, that would seem the whole point of having one to me, but even if they can't track it all the way, they could perhaps tell you exactly when it left Canada?

One other thing, I find things with tracking numbers seem to take longer, I think the barcode has to be scanned at each stop and the increased handling makes it a bit slower. At least that is how it seems to be.

If it was mailed on August 27, I wouldn't be too worried yet, with the long weekend in there that really isn't all that long.

Oh and I'm envious, Red Green is hilarious.
