Ok so i was at Double Diamond ordering 5 mini blankets. they are having a $25.00 deal and i was going to buy 5 of them. I did the "shipping calculator" and it said $58.00. does anyone else think this sounds a bit high for shipping?? maybe i'm doing something wrong to get it calculated that high?

Yeah, that doesn't sound right to me. I would call them and ask.

Andrea

I bought several of those blankets last year. Don't know if you have bought those before or not, but IMO they are made for show horses and not really for brood stock.

yeah i've bought a few before. They aren't as heavy nylon as i'd like but for the price of them honestly they aren't too bad. I do have a few that are really ruff on blankets but for the price i figure i can buy new ones when they get really bad. Any suggestions on nicer heavier duty ones? I haven't been able to find any that i really like that are built better so i was just going to go with them. I had the Schnieders ones but i think they fit very poorly. My big gripe with DD's was that the D's for the leg straps got ripped off like days after i bought them last year. I ended up doing some blanket surgery and making them sturdier and got rid of the elastic all together. All my leg straps are elastic so i don't see the point in having the D's attached by cheap elastic too. one of my studs is very hard on his blankets and ripped one of the straps off the chest straps and he's torn a little hole in one..ripped the D's off around the neck..LOL but overall mine aren't TOO hard on them... If i could find something with a heavier Denier fabric reasonably priced that FIT well i'd jump on it. Mine are all turned out and so they are a bit harder on them than probably if they were stalled all the time.

I love these blankets they fit wonderfully

Well dang, I just ordered two of the blankets but didn't get the free shipping code. I just went to minitack.com to order. Guess I need to watch out better for the deals. Just heard from my husband that the box arrived today. More great customer service with the fast shipping from Ozark! :aktion033:

my horses wore theirs at nationals

i also bought the kensington egyptian cotton sheets for them

also supreme has gold metalic slinkys that match kensington trim perfectly

We offer top quality, durable blankets made of 430 denier nylon outside with quilted nylon inside for $26 each or 5 for $120 every day.

One of my favorite winter blankets for the miniatures is by Jacks. Nice heavy warm blanket.

I believe Dale Lutke (D & S Harness) was selling them a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if he still is or not but you can e-mail him and find out. I know I've seen them sold else but can't think where right now.

I got 4 of the Kensington blankets brought home from Nationals--well, 3 of the quilted ones and 1 waterproof one that wasn't on sale--and I am so happy with them. They fit great, except that the leg straps are too short. The XL blanket has leg straps that are tight, but I could do them up on one of my biggest horses. The L that I got for a very slight 34" gelding has leg straps that are way too short for this little guy. I'm going to remove them all, and hopefully will find that the blankets stay in place good without the leg straps. If not I will have to buy some longer straps somewhere.

Are those blankets from DD the ones with the adjustable fronts? I got one at World and liked it so well went back for another. Now thinking I should have bought more. I really like the cut. Very contoured so don't cause rub spots and very lightweight but fluffy for warmth. I don't like heavy or stiff clothes and neither do my horses :bgrin

forgot....that shipping price doesn't sound right. I'd give them a call.

Minimor - we just found out that some of the leg straps were made wrong. Actually it was at nationals. We have longer ones in stock to exchange out for you. Give the girls in the office a call and let them know what you need. We have several sizes. I had Kensington make longer ones after someone mentioned that some of them were a little tight. Sorry for the problem but we will get it fixed. 888-775-6446

Please call Double Diamond for a shipping price. You can order by phone as well. They are having some issues with their new software and getting all the kinks worked out, but the blankets are well worth the money and the service from Double Diamond is exceptional.

Minimor The ones I got last year at Nationals had some really tiny leg straps as well seriously like made to fit a dwarf even on our 31 &under horses LOL but I just took them off seems to still fit well without them

:aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033: Thanks so very much LisaB! I will get you the invoice # tonight. the color on the blankets is really pretty! I am not taking them out of the bag until I can take a few minutes to fit them properly on my horses this weekend. I also just LOVE the shipping boots I got, they are beautiful! I think shopping for my minis is so much fun, it is like shopping for my little granddaughter. Everything is just so darn cute. :D
