I am new on the board, I was told this was the place to come to find the answers to some questions, so here I am!

I have shown my mini hitched to an Easy-Entry cart in mini driving classes at open shows, but I need to know: Is this is acceptable for a rated AMHR show?

I couldn't find anything in the rule book description that prohibits carts of that type, but is there an unwritten rule or show ring etiquette that states they are unacceptable?

We don't intend to go to many rated shows, but there are a couple this year that are nearby and have great classes, so would like to enter.

Any information is appreciated, and thank you.

You may use an easy entry cart for AMHR rated shows. You will not see many of them in the show ring as most will have the show carts with basket, but I have seen the easy entry carts as well as other carts. Just make sure the cart is clean and neat and you should have no problem that I know of.

You can use it. I've seen them at rated shows and actually, got beat by some one using one before, too :bgrin The bigger the show, the less likely you are to see the EE carts.

I used my easy entry the first year until I could find a pleasure cart. If you have a nice moving horse and present yourself well you can still place. I do believe the judges tend to judge it a little lower. My trainer has a horse that will only use one as the pleasure cart poles are too close to his body and he hates it. He is a really nice mover and places well at shows.

Thank you to everyone for the helpful words. I hope we can manage to dip our toes in the water, so to speak, with an easy entry cart and maybe purchase a show cart for next season if we like the way things are going.

This is a great board! Thanks again.
