I am glad the girl volunteered. However, there ARE specific dress code rules in being royalty and they are in the royalty manual. Many girls apply and only ONE is selected. You are also required to STAY either for the duration or for a specific set amount of time. For the other girls that applied and were denied, the flip flops and the fact the other royalty left is a bit of an insult to the other girls who worked so hard on their essays and their applications. So I have to disagree with those who think flip flops are ok. Sorry. Linda
