My mare, Peaches is at day 334 and she seems to be getting bigger and bigger. My farrier couldn't believe how big she is. People driving by slow down, look and point. :new_shocked: (smiley face for my daughter) I know she will foal when she is ready and stuff but I can't help but worry. What do you all think? Here are 2 pictures of took of her just now.

: Belle and Misty have been holding out for a while now.

Both have bags like litle cows and getting crabby! Misty even kicked me last night when I took a peek a her bag, she has never even put her ears back before. I think she ants to get this over with even more then me.

I dont think all that is baby.... when she does foal you better be ready for the levy to break! Theres a flood comin'!

My girlfriends mare was bred to my stallion who is smaller than her and she is as big or bigger than your mare. I bet when it comes out it is just a normal sized baby and you will have worried for naught! Good luck with her.

wow...she looks even bigger than my mare does. I have had people asking if Ginger is going to have twins! She has dropped, and her belly is to her knees!! And, she is getting "thumps" on the top of her croup! I can actually see these thumps! I am just praying that she will foal soon and be ok.

She (33") has had two foals before by Windy (37") and the first one was small and has matured at 3 yrs. to 31.25"...and the last one was born 26" with 9" cannons!!!!!!!!!!!! :new_shocked: But, at 2 yrs. she is 30" now. She has always been all legs. Sneeky Ginger had both of them unassisted..and unobserved.. but, I am watching her like a hawk with this one!

Windy has always thrown foals much smaller than himself... or the mare.. for me, but ya never know.... in fact, I have a really gorgeous 3 yr. old son of his, out of a 35" mare that is in the 30" range and he is going to be my new herd sire :bgrin and Windy will be looking for a new home this year.

I have two that look like that right now. Their bags are so large, they look like cows. They were both bred to a smaller stallion. I will be very relieved when I see them foaled out and okay.

Thanks all. I am stressing! The stud is 32" tall and Peach is 34" tall. She is getting pretty grouchy too. Tried to bite me on monday when I tried to check her bag. tee hee. I don't blame her. My kids are adopted so I have no idea how she is feeling but I can imagine that it is VERY uncomfortable. XXS, you said you are seing thumps on the top of your mare's croup? You mean like kicking. Every so often today Peach arches her back up quick like she has been kicked upward. She is breathing fairly quick too but still eating and drinking and pooping normally. Her vulva looks sort of puffy but not red. I just want her to pop that baby out so I can play!! lol. I am dying to see what she has. Dad was a dark bay but solid so who knows. I am hoping for spots but will be thrilled with a solid filly too. lol. Thanks for all the support. It helps alot!

 Don't fret. My Missy (who was 32") always looked like that when she got close to foaling. Her babies would also kick clear up into her croup area! I know now why she was always a 10 mo. gestation mare....she couldn't wait to get them OUT! If she carried them any longer, they'd be GROWN when they came out! :new_shocked:

Oh Dona! I am so relieved to see you say that Missy had kicks in the croup ...Ginger didn't have kicks..more like pushes..about the size of a baseball..and it pushed up about 1/2-3/4"...about 4-5 of them in a row. She is also breathing heavy..has been for a few days now, but perhaps she is just hot from not being shed out and having the baby in there for extra heat.. But, she doesn't seem in distress..just uncomfortable and a bit uneasy.

Thanks everyone!! I will try to relax a bit. tee hee. She stood stock still in her shelter all night long last night. So not like her that I thought maybe but this morning she is acting normal and still eating for 2! Yeesh!! tee hee. With a belly that size will she look dropped or is there anywhere for everything to go? Thanks again :bgrin

I have 3 that look like that right now, with huge bags, they are all bred to a 30" stallion, then I have another 4 that barely look bred, but have huge bags. All of mine are due within 2 weeks of each other. :bgrin I definitely know its going to be a sleepless 2 weeks.

Well, she definitely hasn't dropped yet. And I agree with Lyn, I've seen mares big like that who are actually holding LOTS of water and the foal is normal sized.
