For those that show, what is your show preference

I greatly prefer AMHA.

We used to do strictly AMHA. Then we switched over to AMHR and found it to be a much better atmosphere.

We have only shown at our local club and AMHR shows. This next year we hope to add some ASPC classes to our line up. We love the atmosphere and the people, we always seem to have a good time. Every once in a while you run across the "rude one", but that happens anywhere.

I love AMHA. I've never shown AMHR and as I don't have the money to do both, I'll stick with AMHA. For those that say they find the atmosphere better at either AMHA or AMHR, have you considered it may just be the particular people at that show, not that it has anything to do with the registry? I've always found our AMHA shows around here to be VERY friendly, but I think it is just the people that make up our club. On the other hand, I've been to two local AMHR shows and I went to Nationals twice. At the first R show, people were reasonably friendly, but at the second one, it was like we just didn't exist. Both shows were in two different states, so odds are, it was mostly different people that made up the exhibitors. Both times I watched R Nationals, people were friendly. I would hate to label all AMHR shows as unfriendly, elitist, etc (I've seen various descriptions used on a number of threads on this subject, so not quoting anyone specifically from this thread) just because the first one I went to was like that, but I could have done that at one time.

I used to show both, My daughter found AMHA "snobbish" her words as a teenager not mine. I found that AMHR gave me more choices for my money, I could show in any class I wanted at Nationals rather than having to qualify for each class. I found the environment at the shows friendlier towards the little no body people like me. I dont show AMHA at all anymore. If my 34 inch horse measures 34 and a bit, he could show as a B that time and nothing was wasted. I just felt and still feel that I get more for my money with AMHR. I only own 1 amha horse at this time and that is Midas.

We show at 8 - 15 shows a year and find the people to be nothing but great at whichever show we may be at. My family loves to be around other horse people, most of all miniature people.

It has not mattered if we were at AMHR or AMHA shows it is always a lot of fun for us and the grandkids. I think a lot of having fun at them is the mind set which you go to the show with.

They are way to expensive for us to go and not enjoy the people/the horses wherever we might be.

We always show AMHR. For one we have A and B sized horses. For another, R shows seem to run a little bit cheaper.
