things at shows to have some fun.
These were after i was done showing for the day of course.
I once took my bosses 2 dachshunds in the best matched pair class! It wa so funny to see the judges do a double take.
Then they joined right in and pretended like they were judging them. I left the class right after that of course. then i heard myself being paged to go back into the ring. They gave them each a ribbon and put it on their collars and we took a tour around the ring with everybody laughing and them tripping over the ribbons.
Then another time when there was a big class i grabbed a friends collie and snuck into the line waiting to go in and of course everyone was in on it actually egging me on so we hatched it up that when it was time for the next exhibitor to go in and the judge turned away to have him trot by i stepped in with the dog so what he saw go by was the back end of a collie, and i trotted on by and into the line up. Funny thing was this was an old show dog and i didn't know that and she squared right up and started showing for me!!!!
It was hilarious.f
People still remind me of that!!
Another time i went in the under age 7 driving class. I very seriously went and got lined up, judge sees me calls the ring master over. Ring master comes says ahem this is the under 7 class, yes i know i say the horse is only 4, he just looked at me like I can't believe anyone is this stupid. Course the people around the ring were in on it and started laughing so i say very loudly like I am mad, looking at the judge what! are you saying i can't go in this class!!!
This is age discrimination! then i couldn't keep a straight face any longer and he knew.
As you know if you show anytime at all you get to know the judges and they get to kind of know you. By then i had been showing about 20 years. I saw him about 5 years ago at a convention or something and he said do you remember what you did to me in New York, by then i had forgotten , and he said he still uses that as a warning when he has Jr judges that you need to keep a sense of humor in this business!
