I am tentatively going to be a "zombie" or something like that, and Brandon, my five year old son has wavered between a crab, a snake and has settled on a devil.

Colton is going to be a skunk, using Brandon's old costume (which is wildly popular and I've never seen another skunk when we take them out).

My oldest son, Kenny, wants to be Elvis, but can't find the right variation/jumpsuit.

My husband wants to dress as Bigfoot, but can't find a good costume.

I am waiting to hear if our feed store is going to do their costume contest for horses, as I have decided Mouse will be a skeleton horse (going to try and paint the bones onto his dark body background, and put up his mane/tail). I think I will vet wrap his tailbone w/black vetwrap and paint the vertebra on it. S/B a fun anatomy lesson if nothing else. I think he was hoping he could be a unicorn like Goldie was, but jeez, it IS Halloween!

So what are you dressing up as? Kids?!?

Liz

I am a scrooge, so I will dress up as a parent of 2 kids trick or treating, dressing as myself again this year. My daughter is going as a fairy and my son may not dress up, he is 9 but I think he is bored of halloween

My 9 year old granddaughter wants to be a panda, her favorite animal. So I made a size 8 bear costume out of black and white fuzzy material so it looks like a panda. Then I made a size 5 flannel one and sewed the 2 together. Has a head, spats, and mittens all made the same way with a smaller inside liner. Then we stuffed it full of polyester stuffing so she looks like a big fat panda. It is darling and she is one happy girl.. All we can hope for is a little cooler weather because I think she will cook in it. But it is what she WANTED.I have almost 50.00 stuck in it but maybe she will win a prize. If not we had fun creating it. She looks so cute waddling around in it. I have to take it to school for her because it is too big to take on the bus. Then I will stay for the party. They encourage parents and grandparents to participate. But she warned me to stay away from her so no one knows who she is. Little stinker. Bonnie

I'm going as a gypsy and my sister and brother are going to be pirates. My dad's work is actually having a halloween party tomarrow so I get to dress up twice

I tried it on the other night as my hubby was eating supper, he about spit all his milk out all over when I walked out wearing it!haha

My daughter is deciding between a witch and a pirate girl.........

Last year she was the coolest she-devil ever!!!

The padding in this outfit is so funny, I have never worn anything like it before, and it came with the wig and the dog and the sign....I bought a necklace and need to find some ol granny earrings, and some old glasses and I will be ready to go!

Not quite sure how I am going to drive or get in the car but I'll manage somehow!

KScowgirl LOL That is hillarious!!!!!!!

I'm walking with my brother and his son who is going to be a Dog Catching, he is a bit weird. I should prob find a costume soon lol.

Let's see...I'm going as "the mom of the trick or treaters"...that seemed to work well in past years as I do still get candy! hehe :hypocrite:

My oldest son, Breton, is a cowboy sheriff, my middle boy, Loren, is an Indian and my daughter, Maren, will be a Spanish Senorita (of sorts). We will go to the neighbors' houses with the ponies (cowboy...Indian..see the connection?? lol) and then venture off for some hard core candy!

We go to our town's Halloween party w/ haunted house, costume contest and games. The kids really enjoy the pinata at the end. :bgrin

For fun...this is them last year as a zombie, wicked witch of the west (see the shoes?) and a vampire.

wow everyone has great ideas!

i'm going as a poorly wrapped package (box around me, bubble wrap,...etc), taking charm as a postman (pony espress). cute! i'll get some pics for sure!

We are taking my Pali gelding as a Giraffe, my POA black mare as a Zebra, and my bay appendix as a Rino, though I think I am going to stick my b/f on him

: , and they will all go as if they are on Safari. I think I may dress up my little dapple grey mini mare as a teeny elephant, and I will take my other mare as a carousel with pole, fancy outfit and and all.

My amazing mare that Peggy Fleming saved from dying of founder, Sassy, is now walking sound again, and may be a canoe for my 6 year old youngster, who is the kid sister of one of my top kids. She packs her around like a champ.

Me? I am not dressing up. But good luck to you all.

Pssssshhhhhhh...

I'm too old to dress up ;-D

Kidding,

But really, there are no good places around where I live to go trick-or-treating and honestly I don't like candy all that much anymore.

I will be home, sleeping, recooperating from Indiana this coming week, and possibly working.

Jamie and I will make up for it at AMHR nationals next year ;)!!!!!!!!!!!!

Old topic, oh well.

Jess and I are FOR SURE making up for it at Nationals. I can't wait for you guys to see us!!! We have the BEST idea!

Anyways, my friends and I built a haunted walk through dealio in my friends backyard and I get to work that this year. Scary mask... and I get to plug in a light to scare people. Yippee...

I don't have a costume... I have part of a really awesome Jester's outfit, but not all of it... and I am not sure I can fit in it anymore, or where it even is LOL

Plus Nathan's too young still- though we may take him down and do the Trick or Treating with the merchants of the town- he's got this snuggly soft, really warm Tigger outfit. I'll have pictures too, hopefully by the weekend

My daughter had to have two costumes this year, because she wanted a scary one but needed a non-scary one for a couple of parties she had. her trick or treat scary costume is a really nifty werewolf mask, but her non-scary party costume was a bum carrying a cardboard sign that said "will play video games 4 food" in marker. It got a lot of laughs and offended one person. Most people thought the sign was hysterical.

Well I am the odd man out. We dont go trick or treating here..

It is something I just never got- spend years and in fact all year telling my kids, dont talk to strangers, NEVER go to a strangers house NEVER take candy from strangers ALWAYS be very sure who you are talking to and walking near and your surroundings

and then one night a year send them out to go to strangers houses, take there candy, walk around a large group of people when you have no idea who is beind the make up or the masks, can really have no clear idea of our surroundings since so many things have changed for that one night(people hiding and scaring you ect)

So we don't go trick or treating .. if they want candy we buy what they like and watch movies
