Rabbit (Shadowplay Mighty Atom) at 32 years young.
Born 25th September 1979 at 5.30 am, and it was cold and dark and his Mama, Kitty, had run under three fences to have him in the centre of an admiring circle of slightly bemused Arab broodmares!
I carried him back under my arm, thinking "This is where it all starts, this is something special" and was met in the yard by my friends father who had come to feed her mare for her.
"Bloody 'ell, Jane" he said "what the 'eck are we breeding now, rabbits?"
And it stuck.
He is my rock, my foundations stone, the centre of my world. I know that he is not immortal, but I still hope to be celebrating his birthday with you again, next year.
When I lose him, part of me will die too, a part of my world will end, and life will never be the same again.....
