Molly's on Ottawa St in Hamilton has quite a nice collection of hats - I never fail to find one there. The Hat Shoppe in Niagara-On-The-Lake is another good place to shop. We found a wonderful ladies dress shop with a fabulous assortment of hats just down the block from the Convention Centre in Buffalo too. There are quite a few online shops, Relhok for one in Ontario, if you google driving hats or apparel. Value Village often has some nice hats but you really have to be a frequent shopper to find them there.

Do a google search, there are quite a few cool places to look at hats for driving. Most are out east - especially in KY.

I got mine from a lady on the lilbeginning sale board. She's out of Fenton, MI and posts clothes/hats for sale all the time. I wish I could remember her name, but I know she had tons. I would watch the sale board or post a want ad.

I've also gotten quite a few off of ebay. Just search women's hat in the vintage section and you can find quite a few neat ones.

I found my summer driving hat at an "antique mall" that had a large number of vendors in one location. There were a number of very suitable hats, but I had a challenge finding one to fit my big head and thick hair...I considered slitting the back and inserting elastic, but then I found one that fit.

Remember that you don't want a wide, floppy brim, so no Kentucky Derby hats! On the other hand, a bare bones hat can be dressed up or tied into your turnout with tasteful ribbon or perhaps an artificial flower (my SIL, the floral designer, would kill me for even saying artificial...)

I got my first one at the first Natioanl show we went to in Missouri -- the rest of mine have all come from Walmart in the states. I check them out in every town I show or judge in LOL -- and quite a few in places on the way to wherever we are going .

Thanks!

Check your walmart, Meijers stores. I picked up 2 last year for 10.00. Plain but I'm planning on adding pheasant feathers and "stuff" to them. They are wool and I bought two straw ones later in the year. You can go online to find ideas for embellishments. If you buy one for driving expect to pay 60.00 to 120.00.
