I just watched it and they did a wonderful job with it. You have an absolutely gorgeous home. Sparky is a great companion to you and has the "Life of Riley". Enjoyed it thoroughly.
Thanks! It was a lark for me. But of interest and demonstrating the wonderful miniature mind, sparky ( stage name)
was purchased out of a herd just 4 days before filming . He was 5 yrs old and a herd stallion. He was led into the house, saw his reflection in the shiny black refrigerator, and fell in love, screamed, and teased the image, in a professional sexual way, for several months, and never missed his herd life. He spent most of his time inside, had a sleeping blanket, never slept or rolled outside. He would watch television at night, especially westerns, where he could hear the canned horse talk, and he would answer them back.
He “talked in his sleep” too. In winter very soft foal like sounds, and in spring and summer, very loud lusty sex “talk” . The typical mini, he soon discovered how to open everything, trash compactor, dish washers, and any gate or door. While his space had a rough slate floor, the main house had a smooth ceramic floor. I would often return home to find him standing in the main house- he could trot on smooth ceramic, with never a slip. He would clear my desk, and trim the tropical plants, but not eat, on such escape days. All packaged candy and nuts were consumed, as well as the dogs dry dog food. The HGTV producer and film crew arrived 4 days later. Shot 8 hours of film for a five min. segment. Sparky destroyed a portable audio transmitter I wore on my belt, simply bit into it! HDTV says that about 8 million have viewed the show ( and Sparky) since jan 2006, which probably makes him the most seen mini horse in history.
He was placed with my 17.2 “pansy” trail horse, to “baby sit” , and I will purchase a replacement tomorrow at the Dixieland show..
