I've had my 5-year-old gelding on cinnamon (1 tsp twice a day in feed) since the topic started up - last October, was it? And I have seen much improvement without any feed changes. A couple of folks who don't see him day to day have agreed with me (so it's not just in my head, LOL): His neck is much thinner and softer, his back end no longer looks like a beach ball, you can feel his ribs without digging in to his side, and his belly looks more tucked.
I tried taking a picture but it's hard to see the difference with all that HAIR, so I'll take a picture after I clip him and hopefully we'll really see the difference. When I took pictures last spring, his body was sausage shaped - no "indents" at the girth line or flank... Now he has more of a horse shape, and doesn't feel "hard" everywhere (silly me, I had thought that was muscle).
I'm looking forward to seeing others' reports, and I have to say it's really been a big help to see others' photos of horses, before, after, and the ones that are just in really good shape - helps me to have a better eye when I critique my beasties.
Come on, Spring!
