This is NOT the place to be making accusations and discussing peoples personal business.
Well here in NZ we are still devloping and if you took those that organised the shows out of the equation there would be no shows to go to because no one would do the work, we are not at the stage yet where its feasable for us to have proffessional show management so anyone who puts their had up to help is not going to be turned away. We are committee members of our local club for the very reason that no one else wants to front up and do any work preparing for the show for other or running the club so we got involved out of need. We run 2 day shows with over 100 classes and have around 80 horses there, we employ international judges, we set up the day before, this is everything from the ring in the barn, decorating to cleaning and bedding stalls, for competitors, to hauling the jumps and obstacles, co-ordinating funding and sponsorship for classes. That said our committee do not make ourselves known to the judges prior to the shows unless they are not showing and have a specific task to do, and even then they will not disclose any information regarding local studs and who's on committee, and many a time judges are suprised as to who is who when we finially catch up and host our judges after the show. We have more trouble with competitors outside committee going up to the judges and making themselves known before the show or holding up classes cause someone wants to say bye etc which is frowned on but it happens although discouraged, we do not have the latter happen at our shows our gate and ring stewards wont wear it but most of us have seen it happen at other clubs.I just want to clarify to some people that this is not about me be upset that my horse did not win. This is about how people can organise shows and still pertisapate. You are a miniature pony owner and competitor and you should not have been in the ring when the young handlers class was on.
