WOW! She looks ready! I wouldn't leave her unwatched! What does everyone else think?

I would agree, she looks awfully relaxed from the backside view and in the udder shot her nipples are not touching. Watch closely

! But then again, I've said that before with this mare

Not yet..... sticking to my prediction.... Im sitting in your same shoes waiting for Hunter to whelp..... I know there are 7 and her temp is down to 99.7 but she usually drops to 97. something. She is 58 days today. I feel your pain Bonny but glad I dont have to wonder as much or wait a whole year for a baby!

Lyn, here is Pickle Sweet Dashie Dill aka Pickle when she was 3 weeks from whelping.

) before she whelped but here she is with her litter, first litter for her and what color we got, she's a black/tan short hair, sire of pups is my silver black/tan dapple short hair (his sire is a long hair so that's where I assume we got the long hair pups from!) and REALLY surprised to get the long hair pups.. Was a great pregnancy and whelping, ended up with all live pups, 3 girls and 2 boys.. Hard to believe they all turned a year old in August.. May try for one more litter this next spring

What BEAUTIFUL puppies!!!! I'm down to 2 dogs in the house, and it is so quiet. Now whats up with the Piggies?? Do you know if you are going to have any piglets yet??

Can you imagine if horses had a "litter"?? LOL!!!!!

Lucky- cute babies! Very dappled! Nice! Pickle had 2 litters per contract. $ the first time 2 the second. Now she is fixed. But her dappled daughter from litter 1 is due to whelp on the 2oth.

for two smooths to have a long, both parents have to carry it. WE got a long puppy from two smooth champions, the long hair came from 3 generations back! will do a Hunter thread on the back porch since we hijacked Bonnys! lol

Ok so her udder is a tad fuller tonight but both teats are starting to fill.

But something has me bothered. I was told the horses temp can indicatte foaling. As the temp is usually a degree lower in the am than the pm. When a mare gets close to foaling she will drop a degree below the am temp, thenin 24 hrs you will have a foal. Well I had been charting and she was 99.- in the am and 100.- in the pms. I havent checked her temp in a few days as I was ill. Tonight I decided to start back up and her temp is up to 102.8! Thats not good. She is acting normal, except that she isnt eating her hay. She did eat her dinner and took a horse cookie. However she is having a hard time getting comfy. Switching back legs when she is resting. I read that if they are under stress it can go up. Just curious about what yall think...

Bonny I found the temp changes to be acurate for dogs but not horses. My mares tended to do what Sandy is , elevating temp which is one of the things that causes the sweating.
