I think that is gorgous!!!! Did he do it himself?

OH, this is my hubby's thing. It's ok, he gets a boat, I get a BTU Son. :bgrin :bgrin

Are you kidding? My husbands hobby is annoying me of course!! And boy is he ever good at it! Theres got to be an award he can win.

Ok, now to tell the whole truth, he and I share a couple of hobbies. We shoot shotguns competitively and we both hunt as well.

Does this pass as a hobby :new_argue:

Right now he has no hobbies, but in the past he did wood carvings until he became allergic to the redwood.

He wants to get into a hobby that deals with glass next, maybe etching.

Larry rediscovered his love for astronomy a few years ago.....thanks to me bringing home a small telescope from a yard sale.

:

He has since sold that telescope and we have two others that are bigger and better. And he is now working parttime for the SunRiver Observatory which is a non-profit educational observatory. This also means he has access to some of the biggest and fanciest telescopes in the country.....so he's in his glory!

One of Larry's "jobs" is to sell over the internet stuff from the observatory retail outlet, plus during the summer he is a vendor at various Star Parties all over Oregon and Washington. A Star Party is where hundreds of amateur astronomers go out in the middle of no-where and camp, look at the night sky, and all compare other people's telescopes. It's really kind of fun because it's very family oriented, so Brianna and I go with him.

H likes old cars. He has an old Fiat Spider that is cute and restored with the interior redone, etc., and ready to paint. He also has an old (oh, I hate it) 1948 or 1949 Pymouth monstrosity. Though he won't readily admit it, he is fond of my hobby, too.

My Hubby's hobby is GUNS. Anything to do with them. We both hunt, both are members of SASS (Single Action Shooting Society), SCI, NRA......the list goes on and on. He also reloads his own ammunition for everything. He has been doing that since he was 12.....long time ago!

This is him as Dawgtooth Dave in June last year. I took the photo!

Hobby as in singular? Then I'd have to say his hobby is HOBBIES!

I never know what Scotts going to be into or drag home next, there's never a dull moment around our farm, sometimes I come across things behind the shop or up in the shop that he's snuck in at some point in time or another
default_rolleyes.gif
:

He's really best at trading, I've known him to trade a car for a boom truck, books for a combine, paperwork for railroad signals, drill bits for gas tanks, and thats just a few that I know of
default_wacko.png
:

At this time he still has the majority of his rail road signal collection, his coin collection, 4 tractors, many, many many farm implements (have to have more than one of each for parts you know!) Railroad lamps, crossing bells, rail road books, oh we used to have a few full sized rail road track (gang) cars that crews used to check the rails(sold those to buy the tractors). Whistles, horns, locomotive parts. Oh and the tools, he doesn't like new stuff, he has industrial drill presses from the Ford plants, a 16 foot lathe metal lathe (big enough to turn locomotive wheel sets). Add to this just about everything left from his grand parents estates that no one else wanted.

Oh, and we can't forget his cows!

Now, anyone want to ask how I get away with having so many horses without him grumbling :bgrin :bgrin :bgrin

And Jill, I used to have a Fiat Spyder, let hubby trade it for the boom truck (military boom truck no less) in return for a few horses!

Hey, we're cluttered but we're NEVER bored here!!

And Kathy, I LOVE the fish pond, both it and the koi are just gorgeous! What wonderful work!

I'm not sure how to do the quote thing Frankie but,

Yes he did it himself, he has built 4 ponds before, this one he has rebuilt 3 times!!! He joined a koi forum and found out everything he did wrong so had to redue it, I liked it when we had lilly pads in it but they are not good if you breed I dont know why. I thought I had pictures of the fish in the first one here they are...

At our age Carl has had several hobbies. Restoring anything is it mostly. Oh that he could restore me :bgrin

Started with cars, long list from Corvettes, to Nash Metrpolotins to MY 57' Chevy.

THEN airplanes, ending with our 1946 Ercoupe 415C which we loved to fly and belonged to the club (I was secretary of Michigan chapter), THEN classic wooden boats..loved them and showed them.

He loves to fishing too but now his hobby is his litttle horses full time! I love them too and I'm the one on here but they ae Carl's horses and he does it all with them.

He bought me Shammy so I can hopefull take part and really get into it with her. Also this year we hope to get SHortcake going doing the Therapy thin, another Hobby he hopes to persue.

I have several hobbies, Goose decoys, fishing, minis, until recently collecting pony buggies, carriages and carts. Now my wife only ever had one hobby, hers was spending money, and she was very good at it.

OH MINIMULE, WE HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON. WE USE TO BELONG TO S.A.S.S. BUT WENT TO N.C.O.W.S. THEY STAY MORE ORIGINAL WITH THE TIME PERIOD AS FAR AS GUNS AND CLOTHING.

HOPEFULLY HERE IS A PICTURE OF SOME OF OUR GROUP AT JOHNNY RINGO DAYS IN GREENSFORK, IN. WITH OF COURSE OUR LITTLE ZOEY CARRING HER SADDLE BAGS WITH DYNAMITE IN THEM (FAKE OF COURSE).

Very cool! SASS is having a big debate right now about how much "work" can be done to a firearm for the competition. They want to keep the guns authentic. Makes the competition depend on how good/fast a shooter you are versus how much money you can put into the gun.
default_rolleyes.gif
: I like that!

My poor husband has no hobby..... could be thats why he is a workaholic or does he have no hobbys because he is a workaholic. Between work and church....... I have asked him what he would like to do if he HAD a hobby..... he loves the civil war stuff.....we live on a former battleground, still have the earthworks there....he has a metal detector he goes into the woods with sometimes. I guess that makes it his hobby. He isnt a horse person.

My hubby likes to work in his garden in the spring and summer, do leather crafts in the winter, hunt in the fall. He loves old tractors, and just got one last year that he's anxious to fix up. He also likes the ponies (and never complains about the money I spend on them), and although they are definitely my thing, he is looking forward to getting a stallion and is anxious for me to get the girls driving. I'm hoping that he gets hooked on driving and we can maybe do that together.

My hubby loves to boat and fish. He also likes to hunt, but fishing is his real passion. He also enjoys beekeeping - he loaths my horses and goats.

GUNS!!!!! ANYthing, EVERYthing GUNS!!!!
default_wacko.png
:

Hunting, Gunsmithing, Reloading, Shooting, Buying!!! He is BIG time into hunting, (and me a tree-hugger! LOL!!! I understand the need for it, but won't participate, and we get along just fine!). I have even been known to buy him a special gun when I want a special horse! LOL!!!!
default_wink.png
:

He also likes to Landscape - buy your hubby a BobCat and they turn into instant landscapers! (Did you know that you can plant about 12 Lilac Bushes in about 10 minutes with a BobCat and hole driller??? LOL!!), buy him a welder, and he will make you carts, feeders, gates, gadgets!!! LOL!!! I have learned the secret to my Hubby having Hobbies that will help me get neat things I can use too, BUY THEM TOOLS!!! LOL!!!
default_wink.png
:

And then there are the Horses - that is what drew us together, and that is a hobby we will always share together!
